Better than a 5!

I own well over 1000 self-help books and CDs. In addition, as a public speaker, I spend at least $40,000 per year going to advanced training. THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST! I purchased the book which describes in detail the process to use to jump start a better life for you. In just three short weeks, I have accomplished goals I struggled with for months. Wow! Wow! Wow! I recommend this product to anyone who is serious about changing their level of consciousness and therefore, their level of success in this world! Follow the process outlined to your success!

This is it.

I bought this thinking okay another self help book; let me see what it can?t do. To my surprise this is probably the last and only self help book I?ll ever need. From a business and personal point of view, it's a book ahead of its time. We live in a I want it yesterday, multi-task society where we never seem to get enough done. This book tells you how to slow down, stop worrying and complete one task at a time. There is no such thing as multi-tasking. It teaches how to unselfishly love you. It tells you how to stop ridiculing yourself for making mistakes because mistakes are just another opportunity to get it right. This is a phenomenal book.

Truly a Classic

This is a self-help book that will stand the test of time. Maltz reveals sometime that is very profound: The things that happen to us in life are a result of our self-image. There is no pretentious language, just simple examples and intelligent insights that make the book even more powerful. I found that audio is a very good medium for self-help books because its message will sink into your head much easier.

Fundamentals that have impacted my life

I'm not a "touchy feely" type, so when I say that this book made a direct & positive impact on my life it is not faint praise. Understanding how our minds work has improved my outlook, and then my results in business, and personally. I listened to this the first time about 4 years ago and began practicing some of the simple prescriptions and found within a month or so things really started to improve. I still review this from time to time, and the lessons found here led me to try numerous others. I highly recommend.

Everyone must listen to this book!

I mean it!

I am sorely tempted to go and buy a gross and hand them out on the street!

A plastic surgeon notes that some of his patients suffer from image problems even though their physical abnormalities have been corrected or never existed to begin with. He investigates. He uses his medical knowledge and keen mind to explore the issue.

The result is this awesome book on how to turn your life around and keep on the good path.

Originally published in 1960, this book is the grand-daddy of self-help books. This version has been thoroughly updated with new scientific findings and current examples.

The narration and sound quality are excellent.

Will Change your life - If you want it

So I agree with most people here that this is a great book and I'm about to read it again.

I was directed to the book after reading another extremely good book on weight management which was quoting Psycho-cybernetics. So my interest was piqued and I bought this book. Needless to say I'm happy I bought the book. Reading it was like a switch turning on a light. I could immediately identify and recognize parts of my own self image that needed changing. I have applied the principles to my life with good results/changes already. I have convinced my wife to read it also and purchased some hard copies to use as "Manuals"

My advice - buy the book, listen to it, be open to the concepts, and apply them. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Had to listen to in a few times

This book is wonderful. Although I had to listen to it a few times to really 'hear' the message. I enjoy it daily.
This book is filled with numerous tools which the reader can choose to use immediately and start living a better life. It takes some work-sure, but what comes easy these days?
For a former worry-wart, I strongly reccomend this book.

Insightful and very interesting

Disagree with negative review. Although this is a book first written in the early 60s and does have a thread running through it, it is one of those books that turns a light bulb on in your head. The original author was a cosmetic surgeon who found that although you can physically treat various conditions with the knife it often didn't help to change the way patients felt about themselves. The book addresses the effect of self image on success and achievement in life. I found this was explained very well and the methods of influencing and changing this seem to be effective and an interesting listen.

I'll Listen to This At Least Twice a Year Now

I have the paperback of the original Psycho-Cybernetics but went looking for an audio book version and found this. I have to say honestly it's a 5 star book.

I am glad that Audible now have a star rating for the 'performance' because Paul Michael not only does an excellent job of narrating it but he sounds a lot like Maxwell Maltz.

I'd strongly recommend listening to this book repeatedly because it's so deep.

One of the best books I think in this genre

I listen to audiobooks every day whilst working. I am fascinated in self improvement and mainly listen to books in the subject. I think this is a highly effective, user friendly, inspiring and engrossing book. This would work well for someone who is out off by 'airy fairy' concepts and presentations. Thank you for a great product.

Excellent - Ignore Negative Review

As stated in this book, the basis of every self improvement book written since 1960 contain concepts taken from Psycho Cybernetics. This book doesn't just tell you how to think, it tells you what to actually DO to get in the right frame of mind to change your life. I will be listening to this a few more times before this goes on the book shelf!

The New Psycho-Cybernetics (Unabridged)

This is superb, both the book and the narrative. Your libaray is not complete without this book. The narrative was very clear, easy to listen to and follow and it felt as if I was listening to the author(s)- depicted the sentiment of the book. I am very glad I purchased it.

Very practical, easy to listen and mind-opening

This is one of the best books I have ever listened to. I want to find the paper copy of it as well.

Nicely read, and full of great insights about human brain, behavior, based on solid research and real-life stories.

Plenty of practical suggestions about how to change the habits and your life.

No need to weigh up. It's brilliant!!

Where does The New Psycho-Cybernetics rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If you've come to this hoping to change your life and turn the corner once and for all, then immediately grab this now. No need to hesitate. You've found what you're looking for. Take this audio book and immediately start listening. I've been listening in the car, while riding my bike and pretty much when I have idle time.

What you're getting is the original cutting edge advice from someone who figured it all out back in the 60's. There's no need to keep looking elsewhere. It's all here.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The New Psycho-Cybernetics?

That I can change my life and take control right now. That I already have all the powers waiting within me now.

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

Great reading performance by the narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but at 11 hours long I listen for an hour a day. And will listen to it at least 7 times!!!

Any additional comments?

Brilliant and absolutely life changing.

Not a child of god.

Really interesting listen with many good points, techniques & possible life changing logic.
However I don't believe we are all gods children or that god is the ultimate creator, it's intriguing that the author would believe in god at all?

Practically insightful

Where does The New Psycho-Cybernetics rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is in the top two of my favourite audiobooks. The considered review of our brain's internal functions, as well as guided practical tools to optimise our emotional states make this book an absolute must-have. If I had a hardcopy, it would be dogeared in no time!

What other book might you compare The New Psycho-Cybernetics to, and why?

I would compare this to another favourite of mine, The Brain that Changes Itself, by Norman Doidge. Another great book which works through research, practical examples and guided practical tools to implement the books teachings.

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Paul Michael has a really great speed and calm delivery which made this book very easy to listen to.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is inspirational. Many of the teachings felt like a mind-blowing experience.

Any additional comments?

The only downside of the book, is the occasional reference to 'God's greater design'. For any atheist/agnostic, this can be a little tedious, however, it is easily ignored, and doesn't in any way impact the insightful content of the book.
