Publisher's Summary

StrengthsFinder 2.0 is a book by author, researcher, and speaker Tom Rath. The book is a guide that helps listeners identify their natural talents so that they might develop their strengths in order to do their best each day.

Modern society often concentrates on people's weaknesses. When a student struggles on a particular subject, he or she spends more time on that subject than on ones in which he or she excels. This is also true in entertainment. There are many movies that focus on underdogs, characters who have to fight to achieve success rather than developing their natural talents. Even modern language is more focused on weakness than strength. There are more ways to describe what is wrong with a person than there are words meant to praise and encourage.

Research shows that modern workers rarely find pleasure in their careers. A poll of workers revealed that the cause of their unhappiness is too much focus on their weaknesses and not enough support of their strengths....

This companion to StrengthsFinder 2.0 includes:

  • An overview of the book
  • Important people
  • Key takeaways
  • Analysis of key takeaways
  • And much more!

Too short

Too short - should be free intro. Where is the full audiobook?? Nice intro not enough to really get the detail.

No Test access code(s), Reading of back cover.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Some chapters are challenging to present in audible form, so a pdf with charts or web access to charts and test could have made a difference.

Would you ever listen to anything by Eureka Books again?

I would not buy training material.

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Pauley’s performances?

No.

What character would you cut from StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath?

NA

Any additional comments?

Key Takeaways, Analysis & Review sounded promising, but in the end it felt like a Company Rep reading the back cover to me.

Poor contents

I am disappointed because the book does not give any information about the 34 strengths , which are supposed to be in StrengthFinder 2.0. It takes over 25 minutes of repeated contents just to say that we should focus on developing strengths rather than fixing weaknesses. Really a waste of money to buy this book.

Patronising basic level bore

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

Don't bother with this - I bought it by mistake and you will learn nothing as it talks about the basics and nothing else.
