A great start

The work is highly accessible and easy to digest. At no point did I find myself bored nor did I feel there was any “filler” material. Actually, the book is quite short, which was refreshing. It’s organized in a way in which I could return to a specific chapter/key/step and begin to do the work described within. It’s a guide for those who either want to go into business for the first time, or those business owners who may have gotten in over their heads and are not sure what path to take next. The reader was well paced and easy to listen to.

The book’s strengths can also be it’s weaknesses. If you’re looking for something academic, this is not it. If you’re looking for a guide to starting and running a business, this is not it. No formulas, no specifics on profit/loss, budgets, HR, payroll, taxes etc. That being said, it’s clearly not the goal of the author to disseminate this information here, and he does give some resources at the end of the book, which hopefully can help sort the details of a small business owner’s particular circumstance. The author actually invites readers to contact him directly, which is pretty cool.

Overall, it’s a good read and gives a clear methodology for dealing with problems that arise and comes to a logical conclusion that incorporates risk tolerance and is highly focused on how much risk you are willing to take to reach a desired outcome as opposed to making emotional decisions.
