Publisher's Summary

Research done at Kurt Mortensen's Persuasion Institute proves that persuasion is as much a science as an art - though top persuaders universally possess certain skills that make them seem as though they have a natural ability to persuade. In as little time as it takes you to listen to Persuasion IQ you can transform yourself into a true master of the art and science of persuasion.

Through a combination of clear examples and valuable information throughout, Mortensen identifies the 10 critical persuasion skills and reveals the techniques for developing and maximizing each one. You'll quickly realize how powerful these techniques can be in business and in your personal life. Mastering them will translate directly to:

  • Winning more clients
  • "Reading" people more quickly and accurately
  • Deriving more satisfaction from personal and family relationships
  • Closing more sales
  • Earning more than you ever dreamed
  • And, perhaps most important, hearing that magic word "YES!" more often.

So, whether you're selling a product, an idea, a plan, or yourself, Persuasion IQ gives you the know-how, the tools, and the confidence to succeed - every time!

    Painful to listen to.

This audio book is painful to listen to. The narration is professional, but there is no life to it and the writing is dry like the desert.

There may be some excellent ideas here, but its too dry to get through.

    Persuasion?

Good book generally speaking, however deals more with developing strong character and skills for success in life, rather than dealing with the actual topic of persuasion. Having read a number of books on self development this one seemed to be quite weak. If you are looking for some solid persuasion techniques, this book will not provide them.

    Boring

Boring. The book does not capture your interest and you can't wait to put it down. I switched to listen to something else.

    good in places

I must say I quite enjoyed this book. The reading style is a bit stilted, and some of the humour falls flat. There is also a tendency to state the obvious. However, on balance, there are enough gems of wisdom to make it worthwhile.
This book is more about changing yourself than about changing others. Its about how to become a persuasive person rather than about how to persuade. If you can afford it "Success Mastery Academy", by Brian Tracy is much more comprehensive and an easer listen, and you get both for one credit if you are a member. Having said that I am still glad I listened to this book and I would recommend it.
