In the Spring of 1864, the two greatest generals of the Civil War met on the battlegrounds of Virginia to determine the outcome of the war and the future of America. Their actions in the Overland Campaign define the qualities that made them exceptional leaders - qualities just as relevant in modern business settings.
Filled with riveting battlefield scenes, Lee & Grant showcases the generals' legendary skills and illustrates many crucial values. Lee and Grant both exhibited exceptional intelligence, problem-solving skills, and the innate ability to garner the respect of every person in their command. Today's leaders will find an invaluable business asset in their legacy.
I will probably not download anymore books with this narrator because his reading style drove me nuts. He had very little inflection in his voice & often times sounded robotic.
The history of the Civil War was fascinating to me because it had been so long since I studied anything from that time period. I learned a lot about the war and these two, very different Generals.
However, the battles did get a little old after awhile & my fascination started to wane at some point. This could also be because of the narrator's delivery. I mostly enjoyed the opening introductions of these 2 men & the stories about the end of the war. I also appreciated the tie-ins with modern day leadership at the end of each chapter.
