    "Tactical Training - must read"

This book will not be for everyone. If you are in law-enforcement, and particularly if you are on a tactical team, this is an absolute must read. For others who are simply interested in leadership training, this book may be a bit laborious to work through. As a member of a SWAT team and holding a leadership position with my law-enforcement agency I was very happy with this purchase.

This book may also be of interest to those civilians with a passion for firearms and tactical training.

"Paul Howe is a true leader and motivator."

If you want to perform better, push yourself harder, or lead people from the front this is the book for you. Paul Howe spent most of his life in our nations top special forces unit where selection was never ending. The amount of discipline, dedication, and determination these individuals have is astonishing. In this book Paul Howe very simplistically and methodically outlines the leadership process he gained from the military and then later perfected at his training school in Texas. Though it is geared for LE or military crowds, the lessons inside can be applied to every profession and for any leadership role. Simply put you will not regret buying this book.

I learnt a lot from this audio presentation. Clear, concise and practical. Excellent value. Highly recommended even if not in the military.

"Congratulations on your assignment, SWAT Team Ldr"

This is not a book. This is a manual that may assist SWAT Team Leaders, military operators with tactical training responsibilities, law enforcent firearms instructors, and Police Department leadership teams in developing and evaluating training programs and lesson plans.

Despite the marketing that led me to try the book, there are very few - to possibly zero, depending on your job - parallel applicable lessons or nuggets that anyone in the professional world will find useful or interesting. I was hoping for general leadership principles and insights that would apply to my current management assignment of a non-tactical military unit and I was disappointed.

In fact, as a police officer, military reserve member, and SWAT Team member myself, I found the material contained herein barely applicable to my own duties. I am not a tactical trainer or instructor and, at most, I gained some insight into how our instructor teams prepare lesson plans and why they conduct our range training in the way that they do.

I almost returned this book a half dozen times. I now wish that I had. I kept waiting for it to pivot, but it never happened and the author kept repeating the same points until I just about shelved it and gave up. I felt too guilty to return a book I came withing an hour or so of finishing.

This is a copy and paste of a tactical trainer's continuity binder with footnotes and commentary, more or less. If that's what you need, buy it now.

lays things out in a professional ( and military ) manor that show how much the author wants his method to be replicated to better the lives and skills of soldiers and police officers everywhere.

"Leadership for the public safety arena"

Absolutely solid content. I've been a Law Enforcement supervisor for 15 years and always eager to soak up more and more knowledge. Paul Rowe really laid down some well researched information with the obvious ability to back it up.
Cops are the worst group to train. We are skeptical and not easy on any instructor. So you can tell Paul has earned his ability.
I recommend if you are into leadership and bettering yourself .

I found this book both engaging and instructional. Not only does the author tell you what to do but provides several practical examples on how to get there.

I just couldn't get through this book....couldn't tell if the author was trying to get me ready for Ranger School or the business world. Seemed to be heavy on the tactical side, which, if that's what you're looking for would be great. Just don't have the need to setup ambush sites anymore.
