Good Stuff!

I read and listen to a lot of these educational texts, most are not that good. This one was wrote very well and the voice here was so easy to listen to. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking to learn more about investigations. I am a seasoned investigator and even though this was meant for more of an entry level crowd, I truly enjoyed it and learned from it as well. Bravo!

Not too long, and I did learn something

It did give me a reasonable scope of the business to sate my personal curiosity

Dry…

Dry…EXTREMELY dry. If you know less than nothing about investigating or have never watched a detective movie, this is your book.

Bad narrative

Keeps referring to the reader as “her” which I am not. Just irritating to hear over and over

Absolutely a 101 presentation

If you are interested in listening to a few hours of what reminds me of a business meeting which drags on and on…or a typical 101 required college course, then this audiobook should be in your library. It’s not that the author doesn’t provide a broad overview of the field, it’s that to accomplish that he only really presents an overly broad and I distant viewpoint (more detailed and actual “real world” examples would help). The narration was clear and easy to understand, but quickly began to drone on (little expression or enthusiasm).

Useless for people who aren't from Virginia USA

it's pretty much about the U.S. laws on the subject, interesting, but half of the book is useless if you're from another country.
