Critic reviews

First, Hide the Poison Arrows, is a fascinating, creative lesson on how to use the science of "deductive reasoning and rehearsal" to become a highly-paid sales and management executive in a complex world. Sherlock Holmes, meet Russ Riendeau.” (Marshall Goldsmith, Bestselling Author of: Mojo: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back if You Lose It)
First, Hide the Poison Arrows is an innovative and refreshing way of establishing thought leadership: part audiobook, part impromptu (but fluent and timely) motivational presentation. Provocative, with wide-ranging commentary on the ways people communicate, learn, buy/sell and manage, Dr. Riendeau delivers on his promise, mapping out specific action steps to improve our approach in all these areas.” (David Freedman, Sales Director, Huthwaite International – Creators of SPIN Selling)
“Music provides an effective way to communicate with the brain of your customers because it is a most primitive and emotional stimulus. Companies that find a way to link music to their intention are already ahead of the game! It will rock them!" (Patrick S. Renvoise, Chief Neuromarketing Officer, SalesBrain)

This helped me increase my sales and revenues!

If you could sum up First, Hide the Poison Arrows in three words, what would they be?

Informative, dynamic, effective.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Russ does a great job of engaging the listener.

Any additional comments?

I helped Russ produce this audio book and in the process I learned techniques that helped me to grow my business. That was a huge bonus for me. It was a fun experience working with Russ, his energy, his insights and his knowledge will help raise your game when it comes to increasing sales. Also, the topics covered in this book go far beyond what you would expect from other sales & leadership training materials. Russ uses real life experiences and behavioral studies that really teach the listener how to be a more effective leader and sales professional. Nice job Russ! Impressive stuff!

Perfect book for anyone in Sales

This book is a must for anyone in sales and really gives you some good background as to why we are the way we are. I would highly recommend if you know someone in sales, are starting in sales, that you buy this book and gift it to them. Russ Riendeau does a phenomenal job of reading this book. I would say better than 95% of the audible books that I’ve listened to.

Generalities, platitudes and pollianna

I bought the title. That was the best part. A pleasant storyteller with more frosting than cake.

Brilliant Analysis, Author Knows His Stuff

Russ is eloquent, easy to follow, and enthusiastic about what he does. If you can't get motivated after listening to this, you can't get motivated. He's incredibly brilliant, and can relate to salespeople of any industry. It comes completely natural to him, and I wish that I could hire him personally to sell for me.

What I can sense from listening to him speak is that he is very confident. That confidence spreads through the speakers right to me. I've used his style in my sales presentations and it's increased my closing ratio.

My advice is to try Russ' book, listen to it, and implement it. You'll be amazed.
