"Mary Beth O'Neill's executive coaching gave me the tools and clarity to become a far more effective leader and change agent. The bottom line was that we succeeded with a monumental organizational turnaround that had seemed impossible to accomplish." -Eric Stevens, former CEO, Courage Center

"O'Neill writes in a way that allows you to see this experienced coach in action. What a wonderful way to learn!" -Geoff Bellman, consultant and author, The Consultant's Calling

Since I started working with her, I've won accolades as the Top Innovator for my company, and as Professional of the Year for my industry. More important, I've been able to scope my job in a way that allows me to learn and contribute at the same time, all the while delivering great results to the bottom line." -Lynann Bradbury, vice president, Waggener Edstrom

Great Learnings; Try Before you Buy

The book itself is good, and in my learning process with respect to executive coaching I found the content valuable. Just be warned - There are a fair number of diagrams as she explains systems however and it's more effective to look at these on a page that it is listen to someone describe them.

One should listen for a bit to the narrators voice before purchasing. It is very distinct (deep/gravelly) and not for everyone; if this bothers you, you may be better off purchasing and reading the book.

I couldn’t get past the voice

I have no idea about the content. I couldn’t listen to the narrator. It sounded like a computer- “or-g an-is-a-tion” -read by an automated text to speech. I will look at the reviews about the content and I might buy the book. I wasted my money.

Super helpful

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book was truly valuable. I didn't have the time to sit down and read it, but this audio version kept me engaged while on the go. It's useful for anyway that wants to address important topics with clarity, heart and respect. The narrator was easy to listen to.

Poor presentation

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It required a much better presentation

What was most disappointing about Mary Beth A. O' Neill’s story?

I kept thinking I was listening to an automated voice it was so poor, and stilted

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Vanessa Hart?

Not sure

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Executive Coaching with Backbone and Heart?

The narration was so bad, I just got past the intro/preface section, I was hopping that the narrator in the intro section was not the same as the rest of the book but it was and I just could not focus on the content

Any additional comments?

From the Amazon comments it appears that the written book is good, which was why I bought the audio. Very disappointed - just want my money back.
