Devora Zack, an avowed introvert and a successful consultant who speaks to thousands of people every year, found that most networking advice books assume that to succeed you have to become an extrovert. Or at least learn how to fake it. Not at all. There is another way. This audiobook shatters stereotypes about people who dislike networking. They’re not shy or misanthropic. Rather, they tend to be reflective - they think before they talk. They focus intensely on a few things rather than broadly on a lot of things. And they need time alone to recharge.
After extensive original research and a decade as the world's highest-paid performance coach, Brendon Burchard finally reveals the most effective habits for reaching long-term success. Based on one of the largest surveys ever conducted on high performers, it turns out that just six habits move the needle the most in helping you succeed. Adopt these six habits and you win. Neglect them and life is a never-ending struggle. We all want to be high performing in every area of our lives. But how?
Nationally recognized communication expert, keynote speaker and trainer, and best-selling author Debra Fine reveals the techniques and strategies anyone can use to make small talk - in any situation. Do you spend an abnormal amount of time hiding out in the bathroom or hanging out at the buffet table at social gatherings? Does the thought of striking up a conversation with a stranger make your stomach do flip-flops? Do you sit nervously through job interviews waiting for the other person to speak?
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily while others are destined for lives of financial struggle? Is the difference found in their education, intelligence, skills, timing, work habits, contacts, luck, or choice of jobs, businesses, or investments? The shocking answer is: none of the above! In his groundbreaking Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker states, "Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life!"
The power of social confidence: it lets you see a world of possibility and potential versus a world of stressful anxiety and constant fear of failure. Fearless Social Confidence gives you more than victory over shyness - it gives you social invincibility and forever eliminates the feeling that you're just not good enough.
Do you wish you could decode people? Do you want to know exactly what to say to your boss, your date, or your networking partner? You need to know how people work. As a human behavior investigator, Vanessa Van Edwards studies the hidden forces that drive our behavior patterns in her lab - and she's cracked the code. In Captivate she shares a wealth of valuable shortcuts, systems, and behavior hacks for taking charge of their interactions at work, at home, and in any social situation.

To have a successful career, it's imperative to have a good, strong network of people with whom you've formed relationships. Whether you are doing a job search, going for a promotion, or hunting for your next great business deal, you will succeed only with and through the relationships you form with others. Yet, the standard advice on how to network to develop these relationships doesn't usually work for introverts and the socially reluctant. The "Just get out there and meet people!" advice only works if you already happen to be one of the extroverts in our culture.
Easier Networking for Introverts and the Socially Reluctant is a 4-step guide specifically designed for and used successfully by people who are not naturally extroverted, and who need networking guidance that will work for them. This guide contains proven methods that take people through a step-by-step process; better known as bite-sized steps for learning to network without the usual dread experienced by introverts and the socially reluctant. As it turns out, this approach works well for all personality types!
In Easier Networking for Introverts and the Socially Reluctant, you will learn:
I would not recommend this book. I didn't learn anything. Everything was just about common sense, no new insight. Moreover, the narrating voice was emotionless, like a robot monotone voice.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I received this book for free with the caveat to review it.
Takes too long to get to the point in helping you.
Would you ever listen to anything by Dorothy Tannahill-Moran and Kevin Kermes again?
Not in my interest at this time.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Lori J. Moran?
No thank you.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Found it lacking enthusiasm.
This audiobook is based on four pillars or four basic rules. All of these work in conjunction with the others so it's vital to incorporate them all in order to build your network. This book will help you in these areas:
1. Understanding the building blocks - Know why you're building your network. The reason is for your next opportunity whether it be a promotion or a new job. Growth. Interacting with like-minded people is something introverts commonly do.
2. Expanding - Add to your network frequently and keep in contact. Be proactive and have goals. The book gets into tiers or levels of closeness of the people in your network. It also lists some good groups to become involved with.
3. Engaging - How to meet, introduce yourself, and get involved with others. For an introvert, this can be extremely awkward. This book will give you ideas on how to overcome a few issues that can arise by doing things such as ways to approach people and talk to them.
4. Maintaining - After you've built your relationship or network, you need to maintain it. Consider it as an investment.
Overall, this audiobook can be helpful for anyone interested in networking for life.
LORI J. MORAN did an excellent job narrating this book. She passed along valuable information in a straightforward way. She was easy to understand and had a nice clear voice.
Audiobook received in exchange for an honest review.
