Great book

I will listen to this a few more times. Perfect companion to the phoenix Project, however a stand-alone work in itself. Entertaining, educational, and enlightening

Don’t call yourself a DevOps manager or executive...

....if you have not listened to this at least once. This gives anyone the fundamental knowledge for building a DevOps strategy. I’m of the opinion that a true knowledge worker clearly understands the pillars for their domain. This discussion covers the domain of operations management that drives the domain of DevOps. After this, you’ll have foundation for which to build a true Software Manufacturing, aka DevOps, approach.

This is better than The Phoenix Project.

This is like hearing 2 old sages musing about DevOps. This book gives us the real life heros/sheros, bodies of work to follow up on such DevOps Days,Technological Revolutions and Financial Capital: The Dynamics of Bubbles and Golden Ages, etc.
I never would have heard of then other wise.

Can't get enough DevOps, but not a tecchie

What made the experience of listening to Beyond the Phoenix Project the most enjoyable?

I've read many of the authors that Gene and John reference, so I really enjoyed how they knit together the thoughts and writings on which DevOps principles are based.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Favorite character? I can't pick favorites between these two. Just like my kids, love them both equally

What about Gene Kim and John Willis ’s performance did you like?

The format is loose and conversational. The conversations are very well edited to retain the relaxed feeling while keeping it succint.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Too much info for me to take in during one sitting. I listen to audio books while I drive, and this was a good one to spread out over multiple trips.

Great audible collaborative discussion

Doing for IT continuous delivery pipeline and DevOps as Goldrath’s The Goal did for manufacturing back in the days when I was getting my masters in TQM, this follow up to the Phoenix Project is a great listen.
