Publisher's summary

A Daphne du Maurier Award Winner

Buried is the third book in Bone Secrets, the multimillion-copy bestselling series.

Reporter Michael Brody is used to getting answers. The one that’s eluded him, though, for twenty long years is learning what happened to his brother Daniel the day his school bus disappeared. When the remains of the other children are discovered - and Daniel’s aren’t among them - a desperate Michael calls upon the sole survivor of the tragedy, Chris Jacobs, hoping he will finally break his silence.

Constant fear of being found by his kidnapper has driven Chris into hiding. The only lead Michael has is Chris’s sister, Jamie. Strong and impenetrable, she’s capable of burrowing deep into Michael’s heart. As they race to find Chris, Michael and Jamie somehow find each other among the decades of wreckage. But locating Chris may not be so easy. Now grown, his scars go far deeper than skin.

In Buried, the next thrilling Bone Secrets novel from bestselling author Kendra Elliot, a damaged hero digs deep into his terrifying past...and unearths a chance at love for the future.

Great mix of mystery, suspense, & romance.

Audible. Also available to borrow ebook/audio via KU. This is one of those books that’s less expensive to buy the ebook & add-on the audio ($6.98 for both at the time of this review).

4.5 stars. I like the first two. I loved this one. I felt like there was a better flow to the story and even though we have insight into who the killer is ~ there's still a lot of mystery in that he's not alone. I felt like this was a good mix of mystery, suspense, & romance. Luke Daniel's narration was fantastic. He did a great job of giving each character a unique voice and I always knew exactly who was talking whether it was specifically noted or not.

I think the fact that we met Michael Brody in Hidden (book 1) and we see/hear from several of those characters really helps with immersion into the story. I don't think that anyone HAS to have listened to Hidden & Chilled to enjoy this though. Michael, Jamie Jacobs, and her brother, Chris are thrust into the search for a kidnapper & killer when the remains of an unsolved mystery are uncovered. There were several plot twists that I didn't see coming that elevated this story even further. I was hooked from beginning to end.

I will continue to listen in order, but am definitely looking forward to Chris's book.

thrilling!!

This one keeps you guessing until the end! 20 yr ago, a bus load of school children disappeared, one of whom was the brother of our dogged reporter friend, Michael Brody. Now remains have been discovered, along with the shell of the bus, and Michael wants to find out what happened to his brother. When none of the remains are identified as Daniel Brody, Michael decides to find the lone survivor, Chris Jacobs, who has always claimed that he had no memory of the 2-yr disappearance. Unable to locate Chris, Michael searches out his only surviving relative, elementary school principal, Jamie Jacobs. When Jamie is attacked, presumably by the killer, the duo team up to find Chris and get some answers. Just when they arrive at the town where Chris has been living in isolation for 10 yrs, bodies start piling up. Can they find Chris before the killer? Someone very powerful has a part in all of this...someone who has been directing the killer for 2 decades. The ending will astound you! Thankfully, we get a cute HEA.
