Forty years after Buckaroo Banzai vanished into deep space chasing Lectroids and lost dimensions, his son Buddy has built a strange life of his own, part-time lawyer, part-time astronomer, full-time rock 'n' roll adrenaline junkie. But when an encrypted signal echoes from beyond the stars, speaking in a voice only Buddy could recognize, the past comes crashing into the present.
Joined by his equally eccentric crew, the UFO-hunting bass player Skipper, drummer-attorney George Washington, and a barefoot piano prodigy named 19, Buddy fires up the jet car, tunes up the guitar, and dives headfirst into a new interdimensional threat. Secret agencies, extradimensional politics, sentient shrimp, and an alien conspiracy older than Earth itself await.
