Publisher's summary

Justin Molina has secrets. He’s served his time but remains a prisoner of his past, unable to forgive himself for failing his family when they needed him most. Justin’s grief is overwhelming, but he keeps silent and focuses on his goals. About to graduate college, he tries to keep his head above water - no matter how many times life keeps knocking him down. When he’s forced to register for a poetry writing class, Justin discovers putting words to his feelings might be exactly what his fractured heart needs to heal. Or is it the older professor with the bow ties and gentle smile who gives him a chance when no one else will?

Professor Foster Faraday Harding is a broken man. His divorce is final, and he’s reverted back to the safety of his books. Even his poetry no longer brings him joy; he’s sleepwalking through life. The raw emotion of Justin’s poetry awakens Foster to desires he thought long buried in the ashes of his marriage. When he discovers Justin is struggling financially, Foster offers him a solution that benefits both of them. Soon it’s Foster who’s struggling with emotions he can’t understand: Justin is his student. And a man. One crazy night years earlier doesn’t mean anything. Foster is straight.

After months of denying the growing attraction between them, an unexpected kiss changes everything. Justin and Foster are no longer only professor and student - they’ve become lovers, but the strain of hiding their relationship increases with each passing day. Words have the power not only to hurt but to heal the greatest pain. If Foster and Justin listen to what their hearts are saying, they might break through their silence and live their own love poems - together.

It moved me

I loved this audiobook very much. I see other reviewers couldn’t Finnish it, but for me I found even the poems inspirational. I was hooked from the start. The end felt rushed to me and yes it did end in a cliffhanger. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This book is mre than its Title. listen to it.

ot only is this a very touching story wit great characters, but the narrator was what pulled me into characters words, especially the poetry. Kudos to the author to making her words in the mouth of a male poet and his words so believable and emotionally available. To be honest it caught me by surprise, and took me back to my 20s remembering those feelings

A STORY THAT MAKES THE READER FEEL EMOTIONS

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Foster is a professor at the college. Justin is a poetry student in Foster’s poetry class because he was late enrolling in his classes. They have a different view of each other albeit wrong. Foster feels as if he is an unlovable person because of his parents and his divorce and that Justin is a poser, a rich boy wanting to be a bad boy. Justin feels as if there is nothing in life for him because he failed his parents and he thinks that Foster is a hot older man with everything he wants. Both are wrong about their perceptions. Once they meet and begin to work together, they discover something about themselves; although they deny it and must overcome their self-destructive images of themselves.

The narration was irritating at first but became easier on the ears as the story progressed. The imitations of the characters’ voices were great and it was easy to distinguish which character was talking.

against the odds survive and thrive

I liked Ross and empathized with him. He was a great friend to Foster . Foster was so raw and real and I loved him and Justin. I liked the initiative, perseverance. and integrity of Justin as an adult. He was a motivated ho getter. Foster and Justin were so sweet together. Great couple and great ending. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

There is NO cliffhanger

After reading reviews, about 1/2 of the story, I was worried about this being a cliffhanger. I e-mailed the author. She gave me the name of the second book and told me this book ended as a complete book. After finishing the book, I have to agree. It is a sweet romance of 2 people who deserved love!

Love comes in different form and age.

From the moment these two protagonist met each other things started to change, there was a ningering feeling that things were never going to be the same.
They judged each other by their Outward appearance not knowing what their both buried dap under the surface.

Justin a college student, thought his profesor was stuck up just like the other professors are until he found out who he was.

Professor Foster Harding, saw Justin and thought he was a rich kid with tattoos, raggy clothes and shoes who wanted to play with the cool kid, not knowing that was for from the truth.

This is an age - gap, professor/ student, Bi-awakening Story with real life struggles and some heartfelt poetry that touches that inner soul.

I like how a few of Felice Steven's books Crossover into each other.

Thank you author I enjoyed every word, every minute of Justin an d Foster's story.
Thank you narrator for g iving them a voice.
Excellent job.

High grade performance of professor/student romance

The central characters are well drawn and the narrator brings them alive. The prof. is a little older but the stud-ent wants him anyway. There is some angst and hesitation along with a dose of miscommunication but otherwise it’s a satisfying and sexy story.

Loved It

What an incredible book. I loved the characters and the passion in this book. I found my self crying lots of times and smiling like a loon even more.

I love how Justin struggled with his past mistakes and was always trying to right is wrongs, but not entirely able to. He struggled with self esteem issues and feeling inadequate.

Then you have Foster, who was pretty much mentally abused by his ex wife and so his self esteem was incredibly low also. He was a strong character, until it came to intimacy.

The two make an incredible pair and were hot and steamy together.

Broken Silence: Rock Bottom, Book 1
By Felice Stevens
Narrated by Michael Pauley
8h 3m
Narrator score🎧 ; Michael did an amazing job ,as always. I loved and adored the voices he gave the characters.... and the little bit of drawl and accents he gave very lightly and in a very saddle way....

Level of steam🔥: the book wasn't the hottest book out there.... but the sex was very very reliable, and very real.... something that you don't get in a lot of books..... and I kind of loved it... the fear of penetration was very very real and very beautiful.... the want and the fear mingled incredibly....and it was all very very mature and complex.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: I would not call this book a sad one.... though it was more of a mundane story, about difficult life that we all live in the some manner.... it's a book about mistakes and acceptance and endurance....

The book itself📖: I was struggling to describe why I like this book.... because a lot of people would tell me that's not a lot happened in the story.... you don't have a scorching drama, or a very big reveal.... but somehow this book just worked! it was incredible and as my friend told me it was somehow a pure love story.... that was very real.... the fact that the sex Nd the relationship didn't happen as fast as could of been expected....was the key to the success of the story in my opinion.... and overall I just had to write a review about this book.... because, I didn't see a lot of books that are written in such a sure an apologetic and true manner. the book kept it's level of credibility and in my mind it was amazing.
