Broken Silence

This book was incredibly hard to listen to but it was exactly what was needed after book 1.
It is a few years after book 1 and it really gave us the closure needed from book 1.

Really getting to see Oakley as a whole person and happy with Cole is exactly what I needed after such a heavy storyline.

I loved Oakley’s brother and how protective he was/is. I just wished the narrators hadn’t made him sound so whinny.
Other than that the narration is fantastic.

Excellent story

I personally loved this storyline. I don't really understand why prison terms weren't the same but hey... I loved the ending - the opening of the Center. Oakley made the best decision to not allow her abusers to overshadow her life. Through her Center other children will have a safe place to grow and discover themselves.... Natasha Preston did a good job here showing victims of abuse that they too can have a beautiful purpose and deserve happiness.

We get it, they're in love

The end of the first book finished so quick that I wanted to see how they all got on since.

Where the book dealt with the trial ok and was rightly or wrongly sensitive around the details of the abuse, the does he love me does she love me drama was irritating to say the least.

Talking of irritating. The female actress had a good range of male and female voices whereas the male voice actor was really annoying, like ear piercingly annoying.

There was potential in these books which I feel Natasha missed in the pursuit of building suspense to a bloomin obvious romance.
