Publisher's summary

My car broke down on an icy road in the middle of nowhere.

I’ve got no money in the bank, no place to stay, and no food for my kids. Can it get any worse?

Sure. A police car pulls up.

The county sheriff calls his twin brother to tow my car for repairs that'll probably cost more than the beater is worth. They say don’t worry about it. They only want to help.

Sure they do.

These gorgeous guys just happen to have two friends who own a luxurious motel called Little Cypress Lodge. I walk into this incredible hotel, and it's like I've entered a new fantasy world. It's warm, there's plenty of food for my kids, and they say I can stay. For free. As long as I need a place. The four of them even want to hire me to do some modeling work for their new fashion line. Crazy, right?

Me. The broke down, homeless single mom.

If I can keep up the act long enough to make some deposits on a new place, I can start a new life for me and my kids. If I don't lose my heart first.

This trilogy includes Shelby's books: Broke Down, Knocked Up, and Four Men & A Baby.

4.5 stars

Loved the characters in this book, although I would like to have seen more of Caleb (& to explore more of his fantasies 😉). They all kind of just went together perfectly and it was nice not having to witness intense jealousy and conflict throughout the book. I do think that some of it could have been condensed some, but all in all I truly enjoyed it and would recommend.

So good!

A great mix of everything needed to make a great RH story -- lighthearted, warmth, fun, spice, broodiness, self-doubt, uplifting, drama, love, etc. Some of the inner dialogue could've been cut down for a more in depth storyline of each man especially in the 2nd & 3rd books.

OMG SO GREAT!!!

I love this trilogy! The writing is phenomenal - it makes me think RH is truly possible! The narrators are awesome (I mean, with Jack Calihan you can’t go wrong!)

The storyline is fantastic! I didn’t stop listening for a day and a half!

Definitely something I’ll listen to again and again!

Beautiful but long

This was a wonderful heart filled story. A twisted fairytale. The story has a damsel in distress saved and fights her own demons. With children to depend on her. She make a leap of faith that many others would not.
Lots of spice with no m/m action. I love this story cause it has the struggles of any single mothers and the fears she has.
The story can drag on at times and I feel it could been perfect if they added some more drama in but that's just me. But I also love it cause it's so realistic with normal life trails.
readers did a wonderful job. I nearly could always tell what character was talking. The female was a spot better at it then the guy.
This was my first book from this author and I'm happy to read her artwork. This romantic tale made it hard to get to bed but slammed this book out in 2 days. That's when I know its good. when I cant stop listening.
Thanks to the author for a beautiful tale.

How conscious each character was of their partners.

Excellent story, great characters plus it showed how a healthy relationship actually works whether friends or family or lovers. If someone who is in an unhealthy relationship reads or listens to how a healthy relationship can cause a person to thrive. There are many incidents in the this book where the character explains the previous bad and abuse that was experienced and how the healthy relationship that’s developed in the book has helped them or another character. Such as how Chris who has PTSD has worked so hard to deal with his PTSD yet he’s still afraid to be intimate with a female because he’s afraid of having a flashback or a nightmare and hurting his female partner. Yet the right person arrives and works together with him to reassure him that he can control himself.

Not for me….

Ok this was just too cheesy. And the inner dialogue just too much. I appreciate the talent of the narrators but the voices didn’t fit the characters in my opinion. Got midway into the 2nd book and couldn’t finish.

What was the point of a harem?

The first book was good. Fmc was getting to know all four guys equally. Going a good bond w/each. It got ruined in the second book. All of a sudden focus was on one or two mainly. And surprise surprise fmc ends up legally marrying the rich one. What was the point of the other three men if the fmc only really focused on the rich one? Last two books were a disappointment.
