I did not feel the excitement for fermentation

I love the knowledge about beer descending from fermenting bread. Beer's creation is nicely densely summarized at the beginning, which eases review. I would rather a more chummy presentation. This is a beautiful subject covered as a somewhat plain thing. Professor Bamforth provides a lovely level of detail on the creation-process' variations.

Great book!

Very informative and pleasant listening! Something I’m going to listen to again and again. It was amazing, how it was put together and presented lecture to lecture! Cheers to Professor Bamforth.

Good listen

If you're a *serious* beer geek, then this one's for you. Even if you already know a lot about beer and the brewing process, there's enough meat on these bones to give you something. An in depth look at beer, brewing and beer history, it's well worth listening to if you're serious about beer. If you're not serious about beer, you may find it boring.

Brewmaster's Art

This is a really comprehensive yet simply put lecture series which explains the art of Brewing in layman's terms. Prof. Charlie Bamforth accepts that not all aspiring and current Brew Masters are "Doctors" of Brewing and while for some it is a good revision, I think for most it is an entertaining eye opener reinforcing and revealing much of the essential knowledge that brewers need. I have listened to it twice and learned something new both times and really enjoyed listening. I would imagine that those reading the book would lose out because of Prof. Bamforth's enthusiastic and entertaining lecture style.

great book

To be honest, I thought this was going to be more step advanced step by step process of the art and science of brewing. It is ,but not to the effect that you would expect. This is more like a text book that you would expect to have for a class. Glad I've got it though, there is a lot of information. Makes me want to move to Davis and take the program.
