  • Inner Wisdom, Spiritual Breadcrumbs, and Card Readings
    Apr 2 2026
I sat down with Dina Berrin, an intuitive guide, tarot reader, certified life coach, and author for this totally delightful conversation about inner wisdom on the Breathe Love & Magic podcast interview. Get her Free Gift, the Tarot Coach Approach here. How to Lift the Dark Cloud Let’s just say it. Right now, the world feels heavy. A lot of people are avoiding the news and holding onto a low-grade anxiety that can’t be clearly identified. You know that image of Pig-Pen from the Peanuts cartoons? He walked around with a little cloud of dust overhead that followed him everywhere. These days many of us are walking around just like that. But here’s what Dina and I both believe – you don’t have to live like that, under that cloud. You are the driver of your life. You’re not the passenger, passively sitting there, hoping to get somewhere at some point. But as the driver, you get to choose your cargo and what you leave at the curb. You are in charge of the trip. Dina shared the power of building a daily practice centered on calm and ease. She’s not saying you need a complicated, long morning routine that adds pressure to your plate. Her suggestion is simple and consistent. Maybe it’s short meditation. Or do some journaling, letting your worries spill onto the page, so they stop circling in your head. Perhaps you say affirmations or do something magical. The form matters less than the intention. Showing up for yourself everyday, with presence and intention for inner peace and connection to your higher self or spirit. Consistency is the key ingredient, according to Dina. When you tend to your inner world with that kind of devotion, something shifts. You start to bring a different energy into everything you do. Right now, you need that extra dose of light and so does everyone else. Follow the Breadcrumbs This is how spirit and your intuition communicate when you’re paying attention. Inner wisdom is rarely a big thunderbolt of a message. More often, it’s like a trail of breadcrumbs. In the dating world, “breadcrumbing” has a bad reputation. It’s stringing someone along to keep them hooked. But Dina and I talked about the positive aspect of breadcrumbs when it comes to your inner wisdom. The universe often leaves you hints, nudges, and perfectly timed coincidences to help you find your way. Breadcrumbs! Once you start to pay attention, you’ll start seeing those crumbs everywhere. A book falls off the shelf. A conversation with a stranger answers a question that’s been on your mind. You get a feeling in your gut that says “Yes”. The idea is to simply follow the trail and understand that more will be revealed, but usually one step at a time. You rarely get to see the entire map up front. That’s just how it is with spirit most of the time. Living Authentically Here’s where things get really juicy. Dina and I spent time exploring what it means to live authentically and how much of our lives we spend doing the opposite without even realizing it. Most people have been conditioned to look outside themselves for answers. They seek validation, approval, and permission. You become fluent in the language of other people’s expectations and so many have lost touch with their own inner knowing and wisdom. Becoming self-aware is the solution. This is about the gentle, curious kind of awareness and the practice of noticing how you act and react. Get really clear if you’re showing up as you or as the version of you that’s trying to keep everyone else happy. Dina puts it so simply. When you’re deeply connected to what you truly need and want, you stop solely pleasing everyone else. This is how you cultivate self-trust. You build the kind of confidence that doesn’t require anyone else’s validation. And from that place, you’re more present, and genuinely useful to the people around you. Respecting and taking care of yourself serves more than just you. It really does serve everyone’s highest good. Turning to Tarot One of my favorite moments is when Dina told me a story about her daughter was waiting to hear where high school she got accepted to. Such a stressful situation, it turned into one of those agonizing periods where the outcome feels completely out of your hands. That’s when Dina did what she always does. She turned to her tarot deck. Wondering what this meant and how things would resolve, she pulled a card. Not just any card, but she chose the Sun card. This is radiant, optimistic symbolism that everything would absolutely work out for her daughter. That card became her calming anchor through three months of difficult uncertainty. And at the end of those three months, and far too many meetings and phone calls, her daughter landed a wonderful high school placement. Here’s how Dina and I both think about it picking a card. Tools like tarot, numerology, and astrology aren’t about handing your power over to something outside yourself. These sacred tools are more ...

  • Welcoming The 7 Sisters of Pleiades On March 22
    Mar 18 2026
The astrology is unusually supportive of Midlife Magic, as the waxing crescent moon conjuncts the 7 Sisters of Pleiades on March 22nd! This is wonderful for spiritually aware women over 50 who are ready to reconnect with their inner wisdom and move into a more aligned and magical way of living. This week, the kind of energy that helps you release what no longer fits and begin listening to yourself again is especially strong. The stars are aligned for growth and movement right now in exciting ways! Register for the Midlife Magic Masterclass Friday 3/20 @2pm ET or Saturday, 3/21 @11am ET Email me to tell me which day works for you! New Moon Match 18th The New Moon on March 18, 2026, moves into Pisces, which brings a sense of completion and spiritual transition. Pisces energy is already intuitive, emotional, and inward-focused. But right now, we also have a cluster of planets in Pisces, which amplifies everything. Heads up! Your sensitivity may be higher. Your dreams may feel more vivid. And, you may find yourself picking up on subtle emotional or energetic cues more than usual. This New Moon follows a total lunar eclipse that was on March 3rd and comes just after Jupiter turned direct in Cancer on March 10th. Together, these events create a strong “turn the page” feeling after a period of emotional clearing. It’s like a clean slate waiting for something new. For many women in midlife, this can show up as being ready to release old stories. Stories about aging, what you want, and or dropping this need to be the caregiver for everyone. It’s time to take care of yourself! Your body may speak to you as well. Fatigue, tears, or even physical tension can be signals of your body asking for rest, gentleness, and attention. This is actually a beautiful window to set intentions around spiritual growth, creative expression, healing, and shifting old coping patterns into something healthier. In addition, you might start calling in relationships that honor who you are now. To mark the moment, keep it simple. Try a salt bath, a few minutes of journaling, or even asking yourself, “What identity am I ready to release?” From there, set a gentle, yet empowering intention like, “I allow a life that aligns with the woman I am now” which fits perfectly with this new astrological energy. The 7 Sisters of Pleiades On Sunday evening, March 22nd, the waxing crescent Moon conjuncts the 7 Sisters of Pleiades. It’s visually beautiful in the sky, just step outside and look up if it’s a clear night. There’s been a lot of talk about March 2026 feeling “magical,” partly because of several celestial events happening close together. These include the earlier March eclipse and a recent Grand Planetary Parade. The Seven Sisters have long been associated with shared wisdom, feminine connection, and support. That makes Sunday night the ideal time to gather with other women. You may focus on being supportive, healing old wounds, manifesting together or healing the earth.. You could spend a few quiet minutes outside, say a prayer, meditate, or do a ceremony of your own creation. There’s something powerful about simply pausing, looking up at the sky, and remembering that you’re part of something much larger and deeply intelligent. A Shift Toward Clarity As we move into early April, the energy begins to shift from inward reflection to clearer outer expression. On April 4th, Mercury becomes more visible in the sky. This supports communication, clarity, and new ideas. At the same time, there are larger background changes happening. Saturn and Neptune have recently moved into Aries starting a long cycle that blends vision with reality and intuition with structure. That means its a time to be more honest about what you want in this next phase of life. You may find yourself less willing to stay quiet just to keep the peace and have a stronger desire to express what feels true. Ideas that came through in March, whether in dreams, realizations, or emotional insights, now want to take form. So, you may have an honest conversation, make a clear plan, or take a step you’ve put off for a while. It could be something as simple as saying what you need in a relationship. Or as bold as starting a new project that feels more aligned with who you are now. There’s a growing sense of “This is more me,” and a willingness to follow that, even if it shifts expectations. That’s Midlife Magic for you. Connecting with your inner wisdom and higher self. It’s Time to Stretch Right now, the invitation is to move gently and be honest with yourself. Process what feels complete. Pay attention to what your inner voice says and what you really want. Notice where you feel called to stretch, even just a little. Connect with the real you and your higher self. Focus on your inner life first. Let emotions, dreams, and quiet moments guide you toward what is ending and what is ready to start fresh. Be intentional about connection. Whether it...

  • Bad Readings, Bad Dreams, And Bad Past Life Memories
    Mar 12 2026
What do you do when you have a bad reading or have bad dreams? You can change them! Find out the easy fix in this episode of Breathe Love & Magic Maybe someone told you something that felt off in a reading that stuck in your head for years. The reader might have said, “You’ll never meet the right partner,” or “You’ll always struggle with money.” Gee, thanks for that notion. Argghhhh! Feeling lost in midlife? Register for the Free Midlife Magic Masterclass 3/20 @2pm ET or 3/21 @11am ET Let me know you choice of day in the message! Like a Pebble in Your Shoe Statements like that can lodge in the subconscious like a pebble in your shoe – so bothersome until you can remove it. I recommend that’s what you do with a bad reading – replace it with something that’s supportive or positive. Years ago, this is one reason why I stopped getting casual readings, the kind where you’re just curious and want to hear what an intuitive person has to say. For me, that started to feel like giving my power away. I still ask a trusted friend for intuitive insight from time to time, but only about a specific situation where I truly want another perspective. Or I feel stuck and aren’t sure which way to go. Recent Reading Recently, I was interviewing a woman who does an interesting style of readings. I allowed her to use me as a guinea pig during the podcast recording so she could demonstrate her method. That was not my best idea. I asked what I thought was a simple question that wouldn’t get me into any trouble. How wrong I was. The experience inspired me to share this story because I want you to know how to handle something like this if it happens to you. I’m going to explain how to reset your energy and take your power back. And this same method can also help with bad dreams or even uncomfortable past life memories. Back in the 1990s I used to attend psychic fairs with friends. I was curious about metaphysical practices and fascinated by the people who lived and breathed this work. Plus, it was fun browsing books, crystals, and spiritual tools that were much harder to find back then. At One Psychic Fair At one fair I sat down for a reading and asked about my near future. The reader started describing a situation that immediately made me nervous. Before I knew it she was predicting that I would become ill in the coming months. I was currently healthy and had not asked anything about my health. I remember feeling furious that someone would say something like that so casually. My reaction wasn’t exactly graceful. I stood up, slammed my hands on the table, looked her in the eye, and said, “That was not helpful!” Then I walked away in a huff. Admittedly, not my finest moment. Thankfully I never became ill that spring, but the reading lingered in my mind for a while. At that time I didn’t know how to clear something like that out of my energy field. Fast forward to last week during that podcast interview. The woman I was speaking with seemed nice and good-hearted, but at one point she said something that made my jaw drop. She said you always need a bad element in a reading. That is definitely not true in my world. Helpful & Uplifting Readings When I do readings for clients, the goal is always clarity, compassion, and support. Even when something challenging appears, I talk about the lessons involved and what options or perspectives might help. A reading should leave someone feeling more empowered, not discouraged. As the recording continued, the direction of the reading she was giving me started to feel increasingly dismal. She tried to soften it when she noticed my facial expression, but the cat was already out of the bag so to speak. When we finished recording, I suddenly felt exhausted and strangely sad. I went to lie down on the couch and took a short nap. When I woke up I realized what had happened. That reading had left a heavy feeling hanging over me. First, Clear Your Energy The first thing to do after an encounter like that is clear your energy. I did a quick Reiki clearing and there are many ways to do this. You can smudge yourself, take a shower, wash your hands, or simply step outside for fresh air and sunshine. Then I remembered something incredibly helpful I learned years ago from Hawaiian shaman Serge Kahili King, and later encountered again in a book by Denise Linn. It’s a simple idea that changes the way you see situations like this. You are not stuck with someone else’s predictions. You have the power to change the outcome energetically. This same approach works in three situations: bad readings, disturbing dreams, and troubling past life memories. Here’s what I did. Change the Outcome I spent time imagining the outcome I actually wanted. For example, I pictured the perfect summer. Lots of sunshine. Temperatures in the low 80s and low humidity. Walking along the shoreline or sitting with my feet in the sand. In my mind I was reading a book, meditating, writing in my ...
