Publisher's Summary

"Grady and Sutton's love story is one you won't be able to forget. A childhood crush that turned into so much more. The journey. The angst. The heartache. This is Harloe Rae at her very best!" (LJ Shen, USA Today best-selling author)

"Tell me a happy something, Sutton."

I was only seven the first time Grady Bowen whispered those words to me. Cloaked by the black sky under a blanket of stars, it was easy to get lost. He didn't have any good memories of his own and needed to borrow mine. I would willingly give him anything.

Being infatuated with that boy was a beautiful curse. What could have been special didn't get the chance to bloom. He'd never see me as more than his best friend's kid sister. That was a hard lesson to learn, but not the most difficult.

Grady had always been struggling against the odds. Eventually he quit fighting and let his family's reputation own him. Try as I might, those influences were beyond my reach.

He didn't mean to break my heart. Or maybe he did. I shouldn't have made it so easy for him. Either way, our wrongs against each other carved new lines between us.

I went four years without seeing Grady - each one more painful than the last. That distance did nothing to dull my feelings toward him. But things are different now. Most noticeably is Grady. I barely recognize this man he's become. And that's the way he intends to keep it. Not that it really matters.

Grady Bowen stopped being my happy something long ago.

Awesome!

I love books where people belong together, and there isn't 90% of the book doesn't on them being wishy-washy before they get together. That's why I really liked this book. Yes there's drama... But no unwavering to be had. Great read (the bonus epilogue was kind of weird, but didn't take anything away from me liking the book).

What an amazing experience!

This audio and these narrators fit together like a glove. Grady and Sutton are two of my favorite characters and Kai and Wen brought them to life spectacularly!!! Such an amazing listening experience with the story and narrators that made me fall in love even more.

Meh...not a huge fan for self-loathing Men

I really enjoy Rae's first book “Keeper” so I decided to give this one a listen. While I enjoyed the premise of this book, the broody self-loathing Male lead was getting frustrating by the midway point. You won’t have to wait too long for a HEA and the unexpected twist kept it going. I am not sure the female narrator worked for her character. FYI...these books don't really lap over, so its a stand alone.

Too much drama

I love her books and this particular genre is my favorite but this one stretched to be a story. It was far fetched and overly dramatic in parts to the point I couldn't finish it.

Heartbreak!

This book had me twisted, up and down, high and dry...oh my Lord what a great love story! The fact that they were sweet heart since kids, and friends forever made this story more sweet but a the same time suffering for a long time! Sad to see that in real life is kind of similar with society stigma! But fantastic storyline and perfect characters ❤️❤️

very good

i liked this book alot it was another one i had in and out my wish list but im pleased i finally listened to it only thing i could complain about is the drawn out drama with the police officer it makes it drag on abit and i cant stand it when a good book turns all it's focus to the enemy in the book
