Story
Ironically for the time-traveling chief seer of the supernatural world, time has never been on Cassie Palmer's side. There has always seemed to be too much to learn, too much to master, and never enough hours in a day. But the tables have now turned, and the fluctuating timelines of Earth and Faerie are diverging, slowing time in Faerie relative to Earth, and giving humans an advantage for the first time in their war with the fey. It is one they desperately need, for a literal war of the worlds is about to take place.

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Publisher's Summary
Cassie Palmer, chief seer of the supernatural world, faces her biggest challenge yet - her own allies! Everything's on the line in the latest thrilling entry in the New York Times best-selling urban fantasy series.
Cassie Palmer has been chief seer of the supernatural world for a little over four months. In that time, she's battled two gods, fallen in love with two men, and confronted the two sides of her own nature, both god and human. So it's not surprising that she currently finds herself facing two adversaries, although they have a single purpose: to wipe out the supernatural community's newest fighting force, leaving it vulnerable to enemies in this world and beyond.
To prevent catastrophe, the vamps, mages, and demons will have to do the one thing they've never managed before and come together as allies. Cassie has the difficult task of keeping the uneasy coalition intact, and of persuading her own two opposing forces, a powerful mage with a secret and a master vampire with a growing obsession, to fight at her side. She just hopes they can do it without tearing each other apart.

Worst Narrator Ever
I had to listen to this at 1.5 speed. The narrator was so awful that I can’t put it into words. I honestly can’t tell if she was trying to do such a bad job to get out of a contract, was paid a bonus for stretching the length of the recording, or just wanted the listener to suffer. Ruined the book.

Amazing
Karen Chance composes such phenomenal stories. Each book is more than just one plot-line, one climax, one conclusion. They are complex, intertwined, and they explore corners of universes that are unimaginable to the layman.
This book blew me away. I had stopped listening a time ago waiting for its release. When it was released, I restarted the series and I'm now moving on. I am unable to listen to one book in the series without immediately moving onto the next because these characters bind with you. You can relate to each character in one way or another and you become invested in their fate. I hope Ms. Chance never stops writing because she is a truly miraculous master of constructing fantastical stories.

Complete opposite of the last book
The last book in this series was so exciting. This one is the complete opposite. Where the last was filled with 20 hours of action and time jumping, this one was 20 hours of feelings and talking.
Be prepared to learn how Cassie feels and have her talk about it for hours. She is extremely emotional in this book. She matures in decision making skills but then spends h as of the book in self doubt and pity. All the way past Chapter 22 is just characters talking. Nothing happens at all.
I found it utterly boring. It was fall asleep boring. I zoned out a few times and then went back. It was like that sports commercial where the fan looks away for a second and a goal is scored. I kept going back because I figured I'd missed something. Well I hadn't.
What I love about this series is the world building. In that aspect things are still spectacular.
So here are my issues:
Chapter 9 has this awkward scene where Augustine is trying to convince Cassie to be more welcoming to her Court... it just felt off...I understand where the author was going but the road there was bumpy.
Why cant Cassie just get one of the Necromancers to pull up Mirna's dezd6 wife so he can apologize and be forgiven?... This way there isn't any issue with breaking the timeline.
This series has changed narrators too many times. I hope she sticks with this one.
Favorite Quote "I got 99 problems but this chick ain't one" - Cassie 🤣 So I guess they have Jay-Z in this universe.
2 Stars 🌟🌟- Decent. Has Potential. Possibly a good idea for a story but something could have been better. Doesn't mean I hated it. Just means it was missing something to push it over the hump..

The Pythia Court is starting to come together
This books is slower, in my opinion, than the rest of the series. This focuses heavily on the Pythia court and Cassie learning more about her power. Cassie has really grown since the first book and her interactions with her court really show this.
Cassie and Mircea still have unfinished business but it's done between them. FINALLY!!! Pritkin and Cassie are finally together but they still have a lot of stuff to work through. I am so glad they are finally together!
While I enjoyed this slower pace I did have some issues with this one. There was some confusing scenes in this book, mainly the scene with Pritkin, Cassie, and the demon council. It keep flashing from the demon council to later when Cassie was back home. This quickly became confusing for me, especially since I was listening to the audiobook and couldn't easily go back. I don’t understand why she wrote the scene like that when she could have just had two separate scenes and not confused people.
Overall, I enjoyed this book for it being the slower and more politics paced. This needed to happen for Cassie to have a successful court. I can't wait to see what will happen next for Cassie.

Please...
First things first, I really love this hole universe, the story lines are great! Finally Cassie and Pritkin...It's about time!
Now for the bad news, someone needs to edit these books better for the repetition of phrases and teach the narrator about pronunciation and inflection. The numerous drawing out and sing song warble of every aaaaaaannnd theeeeeen or unleeeeesssss, (of which there are way to many) made me want to throw something. The steamy scenes are delivered in the same tone as a fight scene and I just can't with her pronunciations...less than half way thru I was frequently yelling at the recording and had to rewind because I had missed parts. I also agree with a previous reviewer about the author going off on long tangents in the middle of a conversation or a sexy scene. Although, I do like that each character has a different voice that the narrator delivers quite well.

A decent story
Brave the Tempest is fast paced with a lot going on. Cassie once again finds herself bouncing from one chaotic moment to the next. Many of the support characters make appearance with a few stepping up to the plate to take on more of the burden. The story rehashes several prior books throughout the story, which I don't recall happening much in the other stories and was kind of irritating. A rehash point took place during an intimate scene, which in my opinion was the absolute worst place to do so. This story also felt a little bit like a filled as the overall series arc was not progressed by this story. However, Cassie is finally standing up against some of the powers. The narrator did a decent job.
