excellent!

I wish I had read this book prior to college. Prior to high school! No one teaches you how to memorize and retain what you've learned; this book really tells you how. Also it's well-written, easy to read, with the information easily accessible and not hidden in some word dump, like it is in some other books. Now that I have these techniques I'm teaching them to my kids, and I really think it's going to help them.

This book is really good! love it.

This book was very easy to read with little "fluff", and plenty of practical techniques for mastering your memory. Like many things, mastering your memory takes practice. So though I've read the entire book, I'm not yet a memory master.

But this book has explained the techniques I can practice to become a memory master.

I especially enjoyed the techniques for memorizing arbitrarily long sequences of numbers.

Quick interesting read

Awesome book - quick read, finished quickly one afternoon. And definitely helpful as I gear up for my board review, am slightly brain dead/cannot remember my own name so I'm digging up lots of resources on memory and information retention/ speed reading. So now I'm totally like.... A&Ox1. Do not ask me who the president is.

this is a great read!

If you want just ONE guide for memory techniques to cover all your bases, this is a great one. It goes enough into depth into each technique to use and understand them all, but if you want to REALLY go into these techniques, this is a good place to start, and then continue onto more thorough books. This is a general guide that presents many techniques and gives an overview of them, and for someone just starting out with memory techniques, this is a great read!

Absolutely brilliant.

I judge a book on how easy the ideas it presents could be put into practice and in that regard the book is an absolute gem.
It is also concise reading (~130 pages) and goes directly to the point which are the things that I particularly like.

Likewise, language usage is good with clear examples and easy to follow techniques

I have just finished the book. awesome!!

I have just finished the book. Just the technique for remembering names alone makes the book worth reading. In the process of reading the book,I attended a wedding abroad. I was able to remember almost every single name of the person I met on the trip and at the wedding (with more practice,I'm sure I'd get every one). I'm already noticing improvements in my day to day memory solely as a function of practicing the day to day techniques. I wish I would have picked this book up sooner!

Simple system of memorizing

As with anything else, use what you need from this book ad leave the rest. Some of the memory tips are very helpful. Compartmentalizing was something I had done when studying for a job I had years ago. But, now seeng it here confirmed what I had done was correct. And added more ideas to the system I already used.

Very easy read.

Very easy read. The book enables you to put the principles into practice as you read and shows you just how easy it is to remember lists, numbers, quotes, etc of any given size. One recommendation to the author: include more practice material in the book so that the reader can fine tune these memory skills in a structured way. Or better yet, develop an app with such capabilities. Again, loved the book and am looking forward to putting it to use.

This is a great book. It was easy to read

This is a great book. It was easy to read and the techniques he teaches really work. If you follow what he says you really will improve your memory and you'll have fun doing it. I'm thankful I came across the book and I've read a few other memory books but this is the best I've read so far. If you want to improve your memory skills quickly and effectively then by all means purchase this great read.

This was an excellent book that reinforced

This was an excellent book that reinforced what I learned in College success and Psychology. I wanted to improve my memory on other aspects of life. Material seems to slip my mind like the names of people for instance. Thank you.

Inspirational!

I got the ebook version. I added the audio, so that I could listen to it in bed. The information is invaluable. The audio presentation is very good. The oration is a man's voice in an easy-to-listen-to and clear, tenor range.

Someone I know had a brain injury, and has empirically validated, through recovery, the thesis of the book, that the brain is plastic and can do amazing, new wiring and rewiring.

This book, the way I see it, is more than academic; it is inspirational!

Recommended!

I was very satisfied when I purchased this book. This is really an excellent book. You will surprise yourself at how well you do in the exercises. The author dummies this down so that you will constantly be encouraged by your success and then build to the next step. I never thought I'd improve to the levels that I did. Just make a slight investment in effort and focus and you will keep these formulas forever. A very handy guide to some very real self improvement. I really liked this book and would recommend anyone who needs such type of information.

Hope for the brain

I don't know if it is a hypothesis or a theory, but he says the brain is constantly changing and adapting, when scientists used to think that the brain stopped developing at age 18-19. Now they've been able to successful treat people with strokes, movement disorders, brain damage, even mental illness. One woman was told her condition was permanent but they cured her. There are scientists all over the US that are working on this, and It gave me some ideas on how to treat my own movement disorder. I just ordered his other book the Brain's way of healing.
