The sign said Evansville, exit 23a off the highway. It was here that you were able to see a town of characters fighting the struggle, and how everyone's making their way thru life trying their best to break the cycle.

Over time it had grown to be a wild environment. With gentrification creeping in, the cost of living here's going up as the chance of living here's going down. You learned early to either accept broke days, or find a way to overcome them.

I think I might have enjoyed the storyline if I could get past the narration. There was no flow when reading all of the sentences ran together with inappropriate pausing or none at all. Transitions were horrible. It sounded like a grade school kid reading aloud... (I work in an elementary school)
