What disappointed you about Bound Series Box Set, Books 1-3.5?

The voice used to separate the characters is not believable. The lead male character sounds like he's a dork and makes me want to laugh and I can't take him seriously. He goes from being a great guy to a guy that has the weight of the world on his shoulders, bossy, and egotistical. His voice sounds like he's a big jerk. She provides voices for the dogs in the story and they sound dopey and juvenile. The tones used would be best used for storytelling hour. I am so over this book and regret wasting my time. The storyline is ridiculous and the heroine is headstrong and doesn't consider the consequences of her actions. Actually, all the men sound like jerks. The english accident makes me think I should be listening to a reading of the artful dodger..over done. The accent is corny, a cross between a New York and British accent.

Has Bound Series Box Set, Books 1-3.5 turned you off from other books in this genre?

No,just from the immature writing of this authour.

NO WAY.. she can't change characters in a believable manner.

Very young adult

This book was recommended to me by audible and the reviews were quite favorable. However, the story is very young and the author just tries to hard to get the reader to connect with characters. This makes it unauthentic and cheesy. Good for under 18.

Loved it!

I loved this series! It's gotten harder to find an interesting story line and great narrator but this was amazing!

Almost got in trouble at work.

I had to keep listening the story gave me twiaya and turns throughout. Hope there is more to the series

Immature in every way

This is for the youngest of the YA fans... the heroine is 18 but she has the maturity level and inner thoughts of a 10 year old.

This series wasnt for me because I dont care for love at first sight or random teenagers becoming leaders of the free world in less than 2 weeks 🤣... yes it is fantasy, but C'mon man!

I say give it a chance... but if you like an older/mature cast of characters then you'll probably be disappointed. If this doesn't bother you, then you may really enjoy this one.

Also, there are so many references about how horrible foster care is for kids, references to dying for a girl (who he just met), hoodlums (kids), and other cliche and trope pushing stuff that I almost couldnt finish. I really wish this type of stuff was left out.

Even the characters know they are saying silly stuff like, "I cant believe we have only known each other for a month"... well me too, I cant believe it either. then one of the male leads says something like, "We all have known this war was a long time coming"... well actually you only knew for two weeks, sooo 🤣

This narrator needs to get a new job or take lots of acting classes. ugh!

Great teen appropriate book

Good action and a little romance. But not too risqué for a teenager. It was also nice having the whole box set together.

Just ruined by the accents

While I appreciate that voice acting is hard, especially with so many characters.
I just found the voices in this hard to like.
The worst was the prince who sounded like a Cockney pick-pocket and not a young man who (as described) had been to various European private schools. No private school would produce that accent.
It was distracting.

good story But strange delivery

that a lead character, a Prince no less is accented as a Victorian chimney sweep is a little disconcerting.

Well... What can I say...

This truly was a roller-coaster of emotions. A brilliant book, with twists and turns throughout. If you are a fan of this genre then this box set is a must. Brilliant performance, with different voices for each character. Excellent.

I loved every minute of it! Very well written and researched. A couple of incorrectly pronounced words which irritated my ears and distracted me a few times, but otherwise wonderful.

Loved that this is an all in one. The animage and Mage relationship is told in full with romance, action and a good cast of characters

Can't listen to it

I've been looking forward to getting the chance to listen to this box set, and finally with university now being off, I took the chance to start.
Unfortunately, after the initial opening of the usual "This is Audible" and the into of the recording, the first chapter is Chapter 12.
I don't understand why our where the first 11 chapters are, but having gone through all the parts to try and find them, I am unable to make sense of it.
As they are not in order, I am too confused with the posts of the story I have heard to go any further with it.

Not Happy

Box set not in order, very frustrating may have loved it but hard to follow with first book coming after book 2 then to chapter 17 in book 3.

Excellent. The narration is great. The plot is excellent and it kept me listening. Highly recommended.

Brilliant series!!

Easy listening! Listened to it whilst at work. I love this genre! The english accent in the story doesn't really match the character backstory, but other than that Kristin does a great job at bringing the characters to life throughout the series

Excellent Series

This was an excellent series and on the whole well narrated. However I am English, and Kristen James’s English accent was utterly atrocious. We do not speak like Dick Van Dyke, a Prince would never speak like a cockney, our Public schools teach elocution and diction he would sound more like Our Princes William and Harry. Not a “pearly prince”.
Apart from that it was a fabulous series which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I’m quite sad there aren’t any more.
