Alex Verus can see the future. But he never thought he'd see this day. Manoeuvred by forces beyond his control, the probability mage has made a terrible choice: he's agreed to work for his old master once more.

A set up from the beginning

A lot happened to Alex in Bound and a lot threads were left blowing in the wind. Alex finds out that sitting on the fence and not making a choice comes with a price and that price may not be his to pay.

He continues to be a self centred bastard playing the game as if he has no one who needs him and no one he needs.

This book sets up for the next one in the series, don’t get me wrong it is worth it but you will want to get the one to find out what happens...

engaging

it has tense moments and makes an engaging experience. the way he used small details in previous entries to make sense of what happens to Alex is impressive.Overall well done.

he could have explored relationships in a better way. Also the way he handles characters is inconsistent. sonder and caldera who I thought would get more space were relegated to NPC levels. even Luna to an extent.
Despite , will still look forward to next one
