Publisher's Summary

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both of those dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

A Waste of time!

I couldn't stand to hear it, or finish it! It is the worst book ever. It is a waste of a credit! I wish I could get my credit back. That is how bad this book is.

Biography with too much emphasis on sarcasm

I stopped halfway through this one, I really honestly thought it would be much better given the fact I love Tina's writing on 30 Rock and others, but after listening through some 15 or 16 chapters I just got fed up with the huge amount of sarcasm.

It does provide a few funny moments, and it might even get better towards the end if you stick with it, but I didn't.

Boringpants

Thought this would be a really funny and light read. It was light but not too many laugh out loud funny parts. I was pretty disappointed.

Disappointed

After reading all the 5 star reviews I was so excited to get this book and laugh my way through it. Unfortunately, I did very little laughing. I finished it because my reading rule is to finish all books, but I can't say it was easy to finish. Tina was just not funny. I had to go back and look at all the reviews and buried way deep in the review lists I found some like minded people, but for whatever reason we are in the minority of reviews for this book. Sorry, but there is no way I would give this book 5 stars, I can barely give it 2.

Dreadful. Absolutely awful.

Tina should be required to provide compensation to all listeners. if you are considering a purchase because you believe (like I did) that it will be funny because Tina Fey is the author then, restrain yourself.

This is the worst audio book I listened to in years.

Disappointed

Bossypants was not particularly funny or inspirational. I listened to it for 2 hours before giving it up.

I was disappointed

Honestly I expected it to be so much better than it was. I guess I thought it was going to be more of an honest, open book with comedy sprinkled in and instead it felt completely the opposite. I kept trying to give I a chance thinking it would get better and then it was over. I had just finished listening to Amy Poehlers book which was great and then Trevor Noah’s book so I expected more.
