Tina Fey
Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon -- from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes Special, Never-Before-Solicited Opinions on Breastfeeding, Princesses, Photoshop, the Electoral Process, and Italian Rum Cake!

Editor's Pick: Best of the Decade
Tina Fey wears the pants
"I still remember the first time I listened to Bossypants in 2011. I was a recent college grad and my tastes were embarrassingly snobby, but I liked Tina Fey and thought it would just be soooo subversive to listen to a best seller. Imagine my shock when Bossypants showed me how much pure, uncomplicated joy I could get from a book. I never looked back. Before Tina Fey we had Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, and Joan Rivers, but Bossypants came at just the right moment when the floodgates were opening for women in comedy. Its best seller status made Tina Fey a household name and paved the way for excellent (hilarious) memoirs that would follow by Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Tiffany Haddish, Ali Wong, and so many more. Bossypants launched a cultural phenomenon. What I love best about Tina Fey’s book is her voice, both figuratively and literally. It's a joy to spend five and a half straight hours in her brain, hearing her perspective on comedy, career, and crushes gone awry. The audiobook's use of clips from Saturday Night Live was also revolutionary and elevated this memoir to a whole new level. No matter which comedy memoir I end up falling in love with next, Bossypants will always hold a special place in my heart as the first—and the decade’s best."—Rachel S., Audible Editor

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
YES. YES. YES. As a young woman just out of college, Tina Fey's tales about crappy first jobs and the struggles of hair removal were just what I needed! She followed her passion to an amazing and fulfilling life, and I found her 'wit and wisdom' to be incredibly refreshing and inspiring. What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?
As a big fan of both 30 Rock and SNL, I absolutely adored hearing the behind-the-scenes scoop. Her detailed description of each 30 Rock writer and their respective MVP episodes taught me a lot about both the show and the TV "biz" in general. What does Tina Fey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I originally bought a hard copy of the book but loved the first chapter so much that I was dying to hear her read it. Best decision of the summer!Imagine T. Fey is your BFF and lives in your iPod!

Would you listen to Bossypants again? Why?
I don't know if I'd listen to the whole thing again - but definitely parts & I'd definitely recommend it. Her self-deprecating sense of humor is very funny and she gives interesting insights into being a woman in the comedy business...What other book might you compare Bossypants to and why?
David Sedaris' Me Talk Pretty Some Day... that kind of laugh-out-loud humor. Although his is more along the-spit-out-whatever-you're-drinking-at-the-moment-from-laughter-kind of humor and hers is more uncomfortable-laughter-because-you-can-relate-to-her-awkward-adolescence... either way, very funny. What does Tina Fey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Obviously, her voice. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really -- I listened to it on the subway while commuting to work, which probably made more than one of my fellow passengers uncomfortable when I started smiling & giggling randomly...Tina Fey... Read by Tina Fey... Very funny!
