Publisher's Summary

After surviving a messy divorce, Dr. Connor Wallen prefers being married to his job. Helping animals is the perfect distraction from his crazy life as a single dad, but he finds it difficult to concentrate when an attractive woman fresh from veterinary school joins his practice. Getting involved with someone who works for him would only lead to disaster.

He tries to ignore her but their chemistry is undeniable.

Dr. Elizabeth Bishop can’t stand her boss or how he treats her, but there aren’t many job options in small-town Texas. No matter what she does, it’s never good enough for him, but she keeps trying to impress him anyway. Studying and working so much over the years has destroyed her dating life, so she stopped trying.

She’ll never admit she’s attracted to him, and denies it every chance she gets.

Avoiding him is impossible, but Elle keeps her distance. Conner may be her boss, but she’s tired of playing his games. After an all-nighter turns into more, she’s ready to prove who’s in control.

Although he pushes her away, she’s determined to pull him closer - showing him exactly what they’ve both been missing.

**Bossing the Cowboy is a complete stand-alone, and can be listened to without listening to any of the other books or spin-off series, but if you prefer to listen in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy, as the characters and families do interconnect.**

Entertaining

It was good to be back on the Circle B Ranch. This time we are getting Elizabeth (Elle) Bishop and Dr. Connor Wallen’s story and it was a good addition to the series. Elle is studying to be a veterinarian and when her grandmother arranges for her to intern for Connor you just know that things are about to become complicated.
After a messy divorce, Connor has thrown himself into his work and being a single dad to his daughter, Olivia (who almost steals the book from Connor and Elle). The last thing he needs is to be attracted to his new intern but that is exactly what happens.
The narration by Lia Langola and Tor Thom was easy to listen to and they really brought the story to life for me. They expressed the emotions well, particularly the tension that exists between the characters and did justice to Elle and Connor.
You can feel the tension build as Connor does his best to ignore the attraction that he feels for Elle. Poor Elle, she has no idea why he is being such a jerk to her but she is determined to do her job, despite Connor. The progression of their relationship was entertaining to watch unfold as the story jumps in time on occasion.

I love this story and the narroators!!

Whoa! This is an amazing story... Connor and Elle bring the tension and the steam!!

The banter, love, friendship, family, and everything in between makes this story so great..

Connor is freaking hot!! I love his attitude and the way he carries himself. But the best part of him is his daughter!
Elle is such an amazing character that you can't help but love. She is sweet and is so loving to animals as much as she is to others. She has a backbone and voices her thoughts. That makes her even better.

I loved seeing all the Bishops, I could stay in this world forever and be happy. This family is one of my favorites to read. The respect and love that they all have for eachother is one of the many reasons I love them all so much!

Loved it

loved this one. Single Dad… Heck Yes sign me up 😊

I loved that this was a slow burn romance. I don’t do a lot of age/gap books (even this is not like out there age gap) but I like this one.

Elizabeth Bishop is studying to be a vet and she needs to do her practical, so she goes to work for Dr Connor Wallace in his clinic. And even though Dr Wallace is hot and sexy he is totally abrupt and gruff with her. Always answering in one words and always seems like his mad at the world. So she focuses on her career. But Connor is hiding a different side of him, especially when she gets to see him with his daughter 😊

After his marriage ended and his ex-wife made visiting with his daughter so much drama, Connor decided that women were not worth the trouble. So when he meets Elle he is attracted to her but he keeps her at a distance as he cant see himself going through that drama again. But the more time he spends with her, the more she is breaking down his walls. But can he put his heart on the line again or will he be disappointed yet again.

I liked that Elle knew what she wanted and she went for it. I knew the from the start that poor Connor was fighting a losing battle, lol… But my heart also hurt for him and his own problems. And the narrators on this one... Well Tor Thom is my favorite 😍 and Lia was perfect for Elle... All these characters will just capture you from the start. Olivia was to adorable. I thought they would never get to the good parts. But you just have to read and see what happens 😊 ♥

Loved Elle & Connor

Bossing the Cowboy is book 4 in the Circle B Ranch series. These books are fun and keep you coming back for more with their sweetness and characters. Each book lets you meet with favorite characters from the prior books.
We meet Elizabeth aka Elle, a soon to be vet, and Connor, the town vet. Connor becomes a teacher and mentor to Elle.
Connor is the town vet, a single dad who divorced some years ago and is trying to do the best he can for his daughter and navigate a bad ex. Elizabeth is sweet, but knows what she wants. The chemistry and banter between them will make you swoon. I just love single dad romances and this one was spot on. Olivia was so cute and lovable.
I listened to the audio and the narrators did a great job telling this story. It also had the feel of a friends to lovers as they took their time giving in to their feelings. This book is small town romance, single dad, friends to lovers or student/teacher romance and brings you back to the Bishop family. Kennedy Fox tells each of the Bishop’s families stories in a way that will have you coming back for more!

Sweet and Light-hearted

The long await age gap, single dad, office romance between Connor and Elizabeth has finally arrived. Bossing the Cowboy was a sweet and emotional romance that pulled on my heartstrings. Connor and Elizabeth had great chemistry and their fight against their mutual attraction was agonizing to witness. I felt that some parts of the book were a little too slow but there was still enough ploy to kept me engaged. Once again, Lia Langola and Tor Thom performance was excellent and I truly enjoyed this book.

Sweet and Emotional Slow Burn Romance!

This is the fourth book in the Circle B Ranch Series, a Single Dad romance. This is a beautifully written slow burn romance, and age gap relationship, sweet, complex, and emotional. Connor and Elizabeth are wonderful characters. Connor is handsome, caring, and protective. Elizabeth is beautiful, caring, and supportive. Little Olivia is lovely. Tor Thom and Lia Langola did a great job with the narration.

Amazing story and narrators!!

I absolutely loved hearing Lia Langola and Tor Thom as Elle and Connor. Kennedy Fox continues to surpass each story they write. Each one is better than the next and even streamier. I love that each book has characters that are older than the last. I really enjoyed Olivia in this book also, she added to the book and made it even better.

Smoldering slow burn!

This is the book that I have been waiting for! I have been dying to read Connor and Elizabeth's story for a while now. This book had all the feels and a whole lot of slow burn. Connor had fought his attraction to Elizabeth for a really long time, and Elizabeth did the same with Connor. Once they finally gave in their chemistry together was off the charts. This book was absolutely amazing, and I never wanted it to end. Once again, the narrators Lia and Tor were absolutely amazing, they brought the story to life. This book was everything I expected it to be.

Emily story

I read this whole series and I loved them all but this one is my favourite now.

The book was addictive from start to finish, as soon as started had to finish it all in one sitting.

I loved the moody boss vibe of the book and the relationship with his daughter is the sweetest thing.

I loved seeing the other family members in the book; the banter and jokes they have. Still love grandma Rose. I love the lead up to the other books and I cannot wait to get them.

These are one of my favourite series to read and always do rereads of them. It a second generation book. Highly recommend these series.

😍😍😍😍

My god I Iove the Ranch 😍 one by one I am reading and loving the Bishop’s stories and Elle and Connors was no different. Bossing the Cowboy is a small town, single dad, romance ( not like your mama’s cowboy romances 😜) that is a slow burn, has pig headed characters 🙄, is angst riddled and is a story full of passion, love and steam! There were times I was shouting to myself “just bang already” if you have a fondness for the Bishop tribe, definitely get your hands on Bossing the Cowboy. You won’t be disappointed.

My Thoughts on Bossing the Cowboy

I was excited to jump into this one. The build up between Elle and Dr. Wallen (Conner) has been present for the last couple books. So I was ready for them to finally get their story. It was more than I could have hoped for though. This was slow burn magic with a perfect lead up to the two main characters coming together. Not only did I like that they’d known each other for years and had gotten to know each other pretty well despite Conner keeping Elle at a distance. But I also liked that their relationship wasn’t centered around the next time they could get each other in bed. When the moment finally came it felt well earned for the characters and for me as a listener.

And the narration was amazing. I love both narrators individually and have heard them both on different titles before but I loved them together on this one. Tor’s rough gravelly voice was so well matched with the gruff doctor and Lia has this high energy and sass that I loved for Elle.

Overall this was absolutely a five star listen for me and I’m looking forward to what’s next from this author duo and these narrators. Fingers crossed for more of them together in future.

Elle and Connor!

Elle is working towards her dream of becoming a veterinarian so working with Connor in his veterinary clinic is the best way to ensure that happens. He may be a delight to look at but his abrupt and gruff personality doesn’t exactly make him likeable. She is determined to focus on her career and not give him too much thought until seeing him with his daughter makes her realize she didn’t really know him at all.

The end of his marriage was bitter as his ex-wife tried to make his relationship as difficult as possible with his daughter. Although he may be attracted to Elle he doesn’t need to add another person to the chaos of his life but keeping his distance is becoming harder every day.

Elle’s sassy personality is exactly what Connor needs in his life after everything he has been through as they take us on a heartwarming journey filled with humor heat and all the feel. Not only do the characters of Elle and Connor draw you in but catching up with the other characters we know and love is not something you want to miss. The narrators were a great choice as they brought out all the humor, heat and heart of this story.

A single parent addition to the CIrcle B Series

After the last book and the little teasers we got into Elle and Connor's chemistry and the introduction of his daughter Olivia, I was so ready to start this book. I listened to Bossing the Cowboy in Audiobook format and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially Lia Langola narrating for Elle I thought she did an amazing job portraying her character.

Elle is a typical Bishop woman, strong willed, determined, driven and has a huge heart. I found Elle to be a really likable character. Connor comes across as cold and dismissive of Elle but as you get to know his character you understand it's because he is fighting his immense attraction to this girl who is younger than him and now his employee.

I really liked how the story played out and that it spanned over a couple of years as Elle moved through her veterinary training. They had bags of slow burn, will they wont they moments and when Elle finds out about Connor's daughter Olivia she opens her heart to that little girl in a beautiful way. The moment that finally pushes then to admit and act on their feeling for one another was really intense and definitely gave me a lump in my throat.

Bossing the Cowboy is a great addition to the Circle B Ranch series. Adding a slow burn, single parent novel to the set is a trope I love and this one did not disappoint.

slow slow burn

Enjoyed it but also a bit too slow for me. I'm not really a fan of going back in time when we already had a preview of them in previous books. While I understand we needed some history and context I usually end up bored because I know what is going to happen and just want new stuff. Once we got to new material their relationship exploded fast and wrapped up too nicely. So too much enemies, not enough lovers.

Tropes: Loved single dad stories. Not a fan of age-gap. Was okay with the work relationship (only because they didn't get together while she was an intern).

The narration was excellent!

Single daddy deliciousness

Elle and Connor were everything I knew they would be & more!
Their story is incredible. It is YEARS in the making (talk about slow burn!)

The build up to breaking point was torturous, I was constantly looking at how far through the book I was because the wait WAS. KILLING. ME.
But, Lordy lord, was it worth it.
Their chemistry, their connection, their banter, the instant love between Elle and Olivia - it was PERFECTION.

Oh, and speaking of her. How adorable was Olivia?! Despite all she had to go through, she was still a bright light in the story.
Seriously, single daddy with a cute kid? I’m a huge sucker for those stories.

I really enjoyed revisiting bits and pieces of Maize and Gavin’s adventure while reading about Connor and Elle. I also LOVE that we got to see the beginning of the next story throughout this story. I can’t wait to see where Ethan and Harper end up!
-----
Tor and Lia did an amazing job bringing Elle and Connor's story to life. I had tears in my eyes at one point from the emotional tone in Lia's performance (if you have read the story, you probably know which part I'm talking about).

A Beauty of a Romance! Wonderful Story & Listen🎧

Kennedy Fox pens another beauty of a romance novel, it is a slow burn romance, you can almost say years in the making but definitely worth the wait. You can easily enjoy this book on it’s own but in my opinion it is best to read or listen to the earlier book in this series, they are all awesome and entertaining but most of all you’ll know who most of the characters are that appear in this book, one of the best things of this series is the characters and the camaraderie amongst them is amazing. The witty dialogue between the characters is outstanding, whether it is between family members or the two lead characters, Elizabeth “Elle” Bishop and Dr. Connor Wallen. The chemistry between these two is electric and undeniable, though Connor denies himself. Connor is coming out of a failed marriage, his ex-wife moved out of state and is being difficult, giving him a hard time with his visitation rights. He is not interested in getting involved in another relationship so he puts all his efforts into his veterinary practice. Elle is attending Vet school, she has secretly crushed on Dr VetDreamy but he has never gave her the time of day. Her grandmother convinces Connor to hire Elle as an intern in his clinic, she was not sure about the job and working with him but it would be good for her career so takes it. Connor distances himself and remains very standoffish, it drives Elle crazy at times but she sticks with it. Every once in a while she gets missed signals from him but he only retreats back. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is both cleverly and beautifully plotted, with plenty of drama, angsts, heartfelt emotions and a hot romance. The timeline goes thru the years giving you glimpses into their lives at that particular time and milestone. Elle impressed me with the way she handled herself and several situations, she was wonderful with Olivia. She could have easily run when she learned Connor’s situation but she didn’t, she became his strongest confident and support system instead. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride. It was great to visit Circle B Ranch again, one of my favorite places to visit.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lia Langola and Tor Thom are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They did an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the roles they played, sounding believable in their roles and just as I pictured them to sound. Lia Langola played Elle’s role with perfection, loved her Olivia too. Tor Thom’s Connor was spot on too, broody alpha at times but able to show his softer side. Both were just as awesome playing the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. These mega talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

Every Circle B Ranch book (both the original and the second gen) always makes me so incredibly happy when I read it. It was the series that introduced me to a writing duo I'm more than obsessed with so even though this is a brand new book, it almost feels nostalgic. That being said; this was AMAZING. Might be my favourite book of the WHOLE world yet. The connection between Elle and Conner; the incredible family, teasing and all, the writing was unbelievably good. I couldn't put it down. I didn't want it to end in equal measure. I cannot wait for what comes next. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Finally a circle b ranch book I loved

I loved Elle and Conners love story. Took a while to get to the bit where they confessed their feelings but I was so happy that they didnt run away after that or like give up on their love like in previous circle b ranch books.

I miss the good old books from Kennedy Fox like the Corrigan Sisters and guys. Tyler and Gamma and the gang. The original Bishop stories. most of this series just seems to be about running away from love. It's driving me crazy and regretting buying all the books at once assuming I'd love them due to KF previous books.

They all have a happy ending but boy are they frustrating and very slow slow.

Have this one 5 stars all round because it didn't frustrate me though sometimes felt forced but at least the characters didn't run away when they finally got together but did it really did to take half the book?!
