Alexis Rayne is anything but soft. She’s trained to kill, collect her paycheck, and ignore everything else. But when an old flame pops back into her life, she struggles with her emotions. Meanwhile, someone—or something—evil steals a bunch of powerful items, threatening the lives of everyone on Earth.
Alexis isn’t a hero. She didn’t sign up for this crap. But it’s because of her that these items surfaced in the first place. Now, she has to clean up the mess she made before it’s too late.

I love Alexis, and while you get some origin info on her in this book. This book is makes your certain what way things are going and then makes you question everything you thought. This book also is making me super paranoid of all characters and who we can't trust.
Also random thing does anyone else feel like Mr. Mushroom and Drax are comedy gold? The are my faves!!

There were still times that I think more questions should have been asked before taking things at face value, but I still plan of reading/listening to the next book.
I liked the addition of Ace, he was an interesting enigmatic character who might have some answers for Alexis about her past.
The narrator again does an excellent job with voicing all the characters! She adds life and personality to them and does great with differentiating male and female voices.
