Publisher's Summary

Two-time divorcee Abby Maxwell needs another man in her life like she needs a third butt cheek. Her eccentric, free-spirited Aunt Greta wholeheartedly disagrees and dishes out unsolicited dating advice based on her five marriages. But when a jaw-dropping gorgeous architect waltzes into town to build a resort on Abby’s favorite hiking spot, she will do anything to stop him, including befriending him.

Though Abby and James are at odds property-wise, things spice up in this fast-paced romantic comedy over late night Scrabble games and hotter-than-hell Chinese food, leaving Abby to wonder if the property that really needs protecting is the one around her heart.

Funny Characters

This one was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing at 2 of characters Aunt Greta and McNasty the bull. They had to be a couple of my favorites in the book along with Sergeant Abby and James. I love how down to Earth most of Rich Amooi's characters are because they could really be like members of your family or your friends. He's also got great editors or he is really great at editing his books so that the stories just paint wonderful pictures and keeps his audiences engaged. He is definitely one of my favorite authors and look forward to reading more of his books and hope he never stops writing.

A slow start, but a great end.

This is my second story by Rich Amooi. Once again, the humour was delightful, the romance and language were clean, characters were respectful and I smiled throughout. I’ll admit I was surprised at first, but I loved the ages of the main characters. There should be more romances with this age bracket. This story has a slow build to love and I thought it was too long a build-up. That is, until there was a conflict in the story and I deeply felt the hurt the protagonists suffered through. All that build-up paid off and took me by surprise – I really cared for the characters. My advice: if you feel the build-up to love is a little long, persevere, because when love hits this couple, it’s lovely and heartwarming. Greg Tremblay’s narration is all class (as usual), and I love Rich Amooi’s writing style so I’ll be seeking out more of his stories.

Good read

Cute story. It was a little slow in the middle and took a while to get to the climax and then the ending seemed rushed.

Funny romantic story

Entertaining romance in which two 50+ people fall in love. Predictable development and occasionally a bit lengthy yet still entertaining. The narrator was very good.

FUN

A lighthearted romance that has plenty of canoodling intimated without throbbing lengths or members-refreshing!

Very unique story

I really enjoyed this book. It was very different from most of the romance stories I've read. I liked the older characters and thought he did a great job of character development. The story was a bit predictable, but it did not detract from my enjoyment.
