Publisher's summary

Thanksgiving can't end too soon for Victor Bayne, who's finding Jacob's family hard to swallow. Luckily, he's called back to work to track down a high-profile missing person.

Meanwhile, Jacob tries to find a home they can move into that's not infested - with either cockroaches or ghosts. As if the house-hunting isn't stressful enough, Vic's new partner Bob Zigler doesn't seem to think he can do anything right. A deceased junkie with a bone to pick leads Vic and Zig on a wild chase that ends in a basement full of horrors.

Favorite Book in the Series Narrated Brilliantly

Any additional comments?

This is my favorite book in the series. Thrilled with how Mr. Pugh brought the book to life. Really enjoyed his ability to have distinct and authentic "voices" for all the characters. It really allows the listener to immerse themselves into the story. Absolutely love, Love, LOVE Mr. Pugh's interpretation of Vic and Jacob's voices. Can't wait for the next book Mr. Pugh narrates!

Making Headway

We find Vic and Jacob visiting Jacob's family for Thanksgiving. Vic is trying to lay off the meds he usually depends on to get through the day being psychic and seeing ghosts. He thinks Jacob wouldn't want to date a guy that's medicated most of the time but getting through Thanksgiving dinner with Jacob's family is really pushing things for Vic.

Vic is called back to work when several people go missing and he meets his new partner Bob Zigler. Vic isn't sure about Zig and how he will react when he finds out Vic and Jacob are dating or if he should even tell him. Meanwhile Vic and Jacob are still searching for a bigger place to live that fits both their needs- Jacob something nice and clean and Vic no ghosts.

I found this book to be lighter than the previous ones. I liked how Vic seems to be owning his gift through most of the story as opposed to being overwhelmed by it. I hope Vic and Zig's work relationship continues because he kind of grew on me as the book progressed. I love everything about Vic and Jacob as a couple and I enjoyed seeing how their relationship grew stronger and they took steps in the right direction in making a future together.

As always I loved the job Gomez Pugh did on the narration of this audiobook. He gives each person their own distinct voice and emotion and it makes it so much easier to enjoy the story when you know exactly which character is talking and can feel the story through his voice.

I received a copy of this audiobook but this is my honest review.

Everything's Perfection

Pugh's narration further elevates the story (and before I started listening to the audiobooks, I didn't think that was possible) to utter perfection.

His voicing of the ghosts in this book (who happen to be my favorites) is also perfection.

An utter delight to read.

I realy like this series.

My one pet peeve would be that he's always so down on his homosexuality he is his own worst enemy but that's sort of his character. I really like the narrator he's awesome. The stories are short I kind of like them but no longer but they are complete individuals started, All in all it's been an enjoyable series today. I highly recommend you try it.

Love Vic’s off kilter sense of humor

Loved this one from start to finish. It opens with the weirdly awkward dreaded Thanksgiving dinner with the in laws and barrels right through the stress of trying to find a place to live together without roaches or ghosts. Oh yeah with a new work partner and a creepy crime thrown in. Vic’s odd dry humor throughout kept making me smile and Gomez Pugh voices him so well.

Such a great series

Book three is just as exciting as the first two. JCP builds on the mythology of the series without ever contradicting previously established rules. Awesome narration.

Family Holiday

Would you listen to Body & Soul again? Why?

Yes I would, just like any other book in the series. The stories are very well written and keep me interested right from the beginning.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is Jacob. The stories are from Victor's point of view, but there is so much to learn about Jacob. Victor seriously underestimates Jacob's feelings for him.

Which character – as performed by Gomez Pugh – was your favorite?

I always love the way that Victor and Jacob are done so differently. Each of their personalities are expressed so well.

SOOOOOO Freaking GOOD!

Why do I wait so long between reading PsyCop books?! It must the the foolish forgetful part of me; or perhaps the me who gets distracted by other shiny objects. The objects in this case being MM books.

Thus far, this is my favorite. I’m getting dizzy thinking how each book has gotten better and I’m only on book 3. I will explode by he time this series ends if it keeps on this insane upward trajectory. Too much, it’ll be too much...stop, stop!!

In this novella, Vic is off his meds and house hunting with Jacob. House hunting proves challenging since most places are haunted. Their sex life keeps getting better.

On the police front, people are disappearing. Vic and his new Stiff partner, Zig, are on the case. Zig is growing on me an I hope he doesn’t turn out to be a total ass.

The team solves the freakish case and along the way, Jacob and Vic find a home. I can’t wait o read the next one!

Unique And Engaging.

A fresh take on a cross over between two very different genres, sci-fi and mystery/detective caper.

I like the new partner

Vic's inner thoughts make me laugh at times, cringe, want to smack him in the head...he just makes me want to do bad things sometimes: lecture him to have more self confidence, believe he could be love, believe he is good at him job. He is a strong guy but really where is his therapist??
