Publisher's summary

After the death of her husband, Dylan Lake’s ability to trust in others is shattered. Her life is thrust into turmoil between caring for Emma, her seven-year old handicapped child, and working hard to make ends meet. Dylan doesn’t have time to pursue a romantic relationship. Finding that one special person only happens in dreams. When fate keeps throwing Dylan and Kat together, Dylan finds her attraction to Kat something she can’t ignore. Will her trust issues stop her from letting Kat into her and Emma’s life?

Leaving her old job and moving halfway across the country were the scariest things Kat Anderson had ever done. Starting a new life and career takes priority over any foolish notion of a fairy-tale future of romance and love. Kat’s attraction to Dylan is time taken away from building a new business. Can Kat juggle love and duty to find her happy-ever-after?

Welcome back to Garriety, the town with an open heart, and home to some of the quirky and warm characters from Add Romance and Mix. Join Kat and Dylan on their quest for true romance with a little help from Kat’s sister Briley and her family, along with a host of new characters.

Slow and Steady

Kat and Dylan's romance starts very slow and builds over time as they get to know each other. Dylan has a daughter who gets attached quickly and she doesn't want her to be disappointed. Kat is all in from the moment she meets Dylan but is very respectful of her wishes. Truly a sweet slow burn romance. The narrator Lindsay Greene did a better job with this story. I still would like a little more distinction between character voices.

Great Listen!

This is the perfect listen if you want something sweet and mushy without angst. The characters are fun and believable. The narration is spot on and it's all just great. It's a bit mushy and sappy, but in a good way. I would suggest listening to or reading Add Romance and Mix because I haven't read that one yet and felt there was some backstory that I was missing out on because of it. I still really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

A simple Romance!

This story was sweet and heart warming and I adored these two main characters and how they came together... There definitely some angst and there’s some family drama, but for the most part the story flowed easily and it did end with a HEA.
As for the Narration...I thought it was ok. There was a few times were it become confusing to figures out who was speaking. I would rewind back some and really listen to it again to get it right. Yet, it didn’t really take away from the story for me. I still enjoyed listening to it and would recommend.

Nice story but below par narrator

I admit, I stopped listening to this audiobook at about 50%. I was enjoying the story, but I didn't care for the narration. It was difficult to tell the characters apart from each other because there was little, if any difference between the voices. Maybe for others this would not be a problem. I bought the ebook to finish 'reading' the book, because I was enjoying the story. Reading it myself, I didn't have a problem understanding who was "talking" so it wasn't the writing style.

I was bored

This is a boring story and it's looooonnnggg. it's angsty for no reason. I love the family aspect of the book. But with the narrator I couldn't tell which characters POV I was listening to. I couldn't tell the MCs and family members apart. I checked out like 80% of the book and had to force myself to listen.

The story itself is trying for a more realistic approach to building a relationship and it's not a Disney, girl meets girl, girl falls for said girl... hard. they get married and live HEA. it's not that, and because of that this story stands out. it's not explicit. meaning no sex scene which really is a bummer. not looking for erotica but sex scenes or making love scenes make a book imho.

But I was bored and it never grasped my attention. I'd still look for more Lesfic books from this author.

For avid readers like me who like mystery, romance, sex (tasteful not erotica), humor and overall excitement in a book, this book is not for us.

If your want a day to day playbook on two regular humans falling for each other and navigating their lives together to beat the odds... this is a story for you.

pros;
the family aspect. the supporting cast is awesome
cosplay
children
fixer upper project
realistic
cons;
ummm everything else but the pros
It's long book for no reason. It should be a 3 or 4 hour book.
narrator didn't do a good job voice acting the different characters. Can't tell the voices apart made the story very confusing..
maybe better a read than listen on audiobook.

Well, I didn’t like it

Narration was bad, story was blaring, it was in a way a waste of a good credit....

Narrator wasn't good at all! she was reading like a robot, not sure when different dialogues of characters begin or end.
