Publisher's summary

Commander Berkley Levine is content with her life as a Top Gun instructor in Fallon, Nevada, flying F-18s for the Navy and trying to get over the death of her sister. A change of government and a new equality initiative place Captain Aidan Sullivan at the helm of the Navy's newest carrier, the USS Jefferson. Her first mission could have serious international consequences if she fails. Aidan's orders are to destroy two sites housing the nuclear program of an unfriendly nation, and she can think of only one person she trusts enough to get the job done: her old lover Berkley.

Blue Skies will take you from Fallon, Nevada, to the Sea of Japan and beyond, as Berkley leads an elite group of pilots over enemy territory. As they embark on this adventure, Berkley and Aidan try to rediscover what they gave up for family, duty, and country.

Another hit

Another hit book in my opinion, great narration again with choosing Paige McKinney. I can't wait for the next book in this series, or at least I'm hoping this is going to be a series. That is the hardest part about finishing a new book waiting for the next book to come out. Hurry up and bring the next book on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Falling in Love...

Ali has done it again. I so enjoyed this book. Wonderfully written. Amazing characters. Also like the way she connects characters from her other books.

Wow! Just wow!

I read this book several years ago and absolutely loved it but I must say the audiobook took it to another level. The narrator (Paige McKinney) did an amazing job bringing this action packed military romance to life. I loved the chemistry between Berkeley and Aidan. This is a must read (listen) for any “elite operatives” fans-strong women kicking butts!!

A must

This was so gripping that I stayed up all night to finish the book. And to start the next one. I had to extract myself to do enough work and take the rest of the day off to start the next book! Seriously, wow, Ali Vali you’re my hero from jumping to book like Calumet to a book like this in writing that just blew me out of the water!! Ali Vali definitely favorite author all around! Thank God I like the narrator so as not to ruin such a great book!

Expertly written; Narration was superb varying voices, tones, etc to identify each character.

Having served in the military (although not the Navy) this plot drew my attention. From the turmoil of 911, to the hunt and death of Bin Laden, to the current day COVID pandemic, the world as I knew it has changed more than our ancestors would probably dream of. This plot and the characters portrayed could easily be a premonition of what our future may hold. Ms. Vali has developed each character with the necessary backbone, military bearing, and romantic civility to create an outstanding story. I would have enjoyed Captain Sullivan have a deeper voice but that would have been my personal military preference. The world is changing, enjoy “Blue Skies” and pray our military and leaders don’t.

Abandon Ship!

I almost abandoned the audio book half way through but stuck it out, to no satisfaction. Cringe worthy narration. Unbelievably poorly researched military portrayal. Captain Aidan Sullivan had about as much military barring as a Disney princess, and I mean even the ones that don’t wear ball gowns. I loved Ali’s writing in the Devil series, so what the devil happened with this story I haven’t a clue. Shallow waters!
