Georgie is unhappy, lonely, overweight young man who spends most of his spare time watching sci-fi movies and reading comic books. He has resigned himself to live this way, although it tends to be soul crushing. Then one night, as he is working the night shift at the Blue Moonlight drive in, a strange blue mist begins floating down from the night sky, landing on everything and making it sparkle like a sapphire. Beautiful, magic dust? He wonders.

I could use a miracle right now.

What he doesn't realize yet, that it IS magical dust, that could provide him with a whole new lease on life...but he will be expected to pay a very high price for the opportunity.

Surprising and different

Nothing boring or predictable about this! Reminds me of the short stories by Ray Bradbury.

I also loved the narrator's voice and accent--matched the tone of the story quite well, I thought.
