The Germanic barbarians that rose against the might of the Roman Empire would not be tolerated. Their betrayal would be dealt with. Chonstitus Eralius Chlorus, the mighty Emperor of Rome, dispatches the left hand of Christ, Dras Vladislas Dragulia, upon the Germanic tribes of the mighty Rhine River. Their capital of Cologne was to be burned; their women, children, and men were to be sold as slaves, and their elderly were to be executed for crimes against the Empire. There would be no forgiveness. There would be no mercy shown, for the Romans were given none.

Battered and defeated, the Romans serving under the mighty Legatus Dras Vladislas Dragulia murdered him in his sleep; hatred fills his heart as the dagger is thrust deep into his chest, buried to the hilt. For the world of Tanerion holds many secrets; many legends of a forgotten past and a dark power that looms over them all. As Dras Vladislas Dragulia falls victim to mortality, a blood offering is given. Dark powers have returned to the world of man. The magical ebbs of time that, for thousands of years, had safeguarded the races and kept the demons and creatures of faerie at bay have finally begun to collapse once more.

Dras Vladislas Dragulia is granted the gift of immortality, returning not as the man he was, but twisted and subverted. He rises once more as the Dark Lord, for he is the bringer of death, and the reaper of souls. The drums of war have sounded within the deep. As the legions of the Dark Lord march upon the world of man, only one among them can save the world of Tanerion from eternal darkness. Only one man can bring the legions of the Dark Lord to their knees, but first he must come to terms with whom and what he is.
