Publisher's Summary

It caused instant addiction, followed by an excruciating slow death, and there was no known antidote. It was a killer. Supposedly the drug had been totally eradicated from the humanx galaxy years before.

At least that's what everyone thought. But somehow, mysteriously, that dreadful substance was back in circulation on Repler and threatening to wreak havoc throughout the known galaxy. Someone somewhere was secretly manufacturing Bloodhype, but nobody seemed to know where or who!

Humerous

I long time fan of the Pip and Flinx Adventures, I was delighted to see that audible would add the entire series. What was even better is that that would retain continuity by having Stefan Rudnicki read the entire series. I enjoyed this book in particular, as it is less serious than the others and has a definite homorous slant to it. A relaxing enjoyable adventure.

An intriguing, if convoluted tale

This is a very nice entry in the Pip & Flinx series. The characters are colorful and the story, though quite convoluted, is satisfying.

A bit misrepresented

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I wish Audible mentioned that this was actually the 11th book in the series. It may have been the 2nd written but its not in the correct order.

What was most disappointing about Alan Dean Foster’s story?

Flinx was hardly in it

Which character – as performed by Stefan Rudnicki and Alan Dean Foster – was your favorite?

Captain Mal

Fantastic Listen!

Would you consider the audio edition of Bloodhype to be better than the print version?

I love listening to a good book. However, I also own the paperbacks as well and love to read them when I have time. Over and over again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kitten because she was daring and adventurous.

What about Stefan Rudnicki and Alan Dean Foster ’s performance did you like?

He gave the characters life with the different voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I listened to the entire book one night at work.

Weakest of the books in the series

This book was a real disappointment for me, after reading the previous books. The main female character was incredibly attractive but otherwise a foolish, impulsive, just plain annoying person to read about. I don't know if being a woman makes it worse, but perhaps so. In addition, this is a pivotal book about Flinx and he is so peripheral and the book is written looking at him from without rather than within. I was left wanting to know what had happened to him during the story, even when the full book was finished. And I knew way more than I wanted to know about the dingy female character. Oh well, keep reading. The next book is back on course.

Very nice!

Flinx is not the main character in this one...but given when the book was written, I doubt he was meant to be. In spite of that, this was a very important part of the complete story, and his presence was pivotal in the outcome. Enjoy!

Disappointed

Expected another Pip and Flinx story. They hardly appeared, as if they had been artificially injected. Kitten Kai-Sung reads more like the author's personal fantasy than a solid character. "Vom" vs. "Guardian" would have been a nice plot, but they ended up as “supporting actors". Would like to understand why the book has been named "Bloodhype", because that was hardly what it has been about; and "Kitten Kai-Sung", seriously?

The Second Book Written But weak on Pip and Flinx

A Great Story but more about the Police than Pip and Flinx. This was the second book written to include Pip and Flinx. I did enjoy the description of the Tar-Aiym in this book.
Good read for a stand alone story.
