Saxom is dead. The vampires know this. Anthony Hancock, Director of the Joint NSA/Homeland Security Department knows it as well. Tony and the vampires are now on the hunt for Saxom's brood, all of whom are determined to avenge their sire's death. Neither Tony nor the vampires are aware of the other's efforts to search out these rogues, who may number in the hundreds at the very least. Tony holds information the vampires don't - he knows that Xenides, Saxom's eldest vampire child, has allied with terrorists.

To do what’s right, I’m willing to throw the law out the window and turn my back on everything I’ve been told. Everyone around me knows I’m willing to risk everything for what I believe in. Wylend Arden, Fifth-level warlock and King of Karathia for more than 20,000 years, had quite a story to tell. "It began like this," he said, his smile slightly crooked as he lifted his cup of wine to me. "I had an older brother, born to one of my father's legitimate mates. His name was Wellend and he was heir to the Karathian throne. On his 16th birthday, my father gifted him with the Heir's Ring, as was proper." After thousands of years, Wylend's niece and nephew are making a bid for the Karathian throne.

Publisher's Summary
"The sight of three naked, bloody men wandering into the clearing with moonlight clouding their eyes would probably send anyone else running for their life. I just sighed and watched them walk toward me."
As the first female vampire successfully turned in 700 years, Lissa finds herself in demand by the Vampire Aristocracy. Forced into an unexpected engagement as a result, Lissa feels trapped and stifled as she continues training with her surrogate sire. When a request comes from the Grand Master of the werewolves, Weldon Harper, Lissa leaps at the opportunity to work as his bodyguard once more.
Wlodek, Head of the Vampire Council, in an effort to solidify vampire/werewolf relations, allows Lissa to provide protection for the Grand Master during his yearly travels across the U.S. The only vampire ever named Pack, Lissa is permitted to work with the Grand Master without supervision from others of her kind.
Things become complicated and then downright deadly as old enemies reemerge. Intent on exacting revenge for a failed coup against the Grand Master, rogue werewolves join with new and perilous allies. Now, Lissa must find a way not only to keep the werewolf race alive, but the vampires as well.

Great story, equally great narrator
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, i have read this whole series on kindle and it's even better to listen to it on audible. I like the main character and her story flows very quickly. I just want to know when the rest of her series will be out on audible. Because this book ended in quite a cliff hanger
What did you like best about this story?
Watching how the main character evolves and adapts to circumstances way beyond her control
What about Traci Odom’s performance did you like?
When a book has a good narrator I am never really aware of them. That's how good Traci is
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The last paragraph !
Any additional comments?
Anyone interested in a good series with vampires, other supernatural characters, a strong female lead and a little romance mixed in will like this series.

From Heroine to Cum Dumpster
Any additional comments?
In the last book, she was smart, resourceful, and strong. In this book she is a weak pushover. She is sold into a marriage by the council and all she does is whimper. Raped by he fiance and she just accepts it and calls him honey. Dry humped and cummed on by some other guy and she doesn't even tell him off. Her fiance goes full on psycho possessive and she just takes it. When meeting up with the guy who cummed on her, she just flirts with him more.
All I can say is thank you Connie, I've decided to take your advice and after my girlfriend woke up this morning and got dressed, I blew my load all over her. When she tried to change I said no and told here I would follow her to work and assault any guy who stared at her. Because of you we have been able to take our relationship to a whole new level.

Such a weak female character
What disappointed you about Blood Passage?
This book has a relatively interesting story but it was painful to get through. Poor representation of women and what they are capable of. Hated the main character.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger! The main character is a weak idiot.

More Please!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Of all the vampire books I have read recently this is the best. Culture of the paranormal societies is expanded and explored. The heroine demands caring, and sympathy as well as empathy. I found myself admiring her tenacity and courage as I have not done in a long time. I respected her actions and enjoyed her triumphs. I cringed when she was challenged beyond what I considered reasonable and rejoiced when she surmounted the difficulty. I would love to see the series continue. I am grieving the completion of this novel.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Passage?
Each and every time Lissa managed to accomplish what was to be considered an impossible task
Which character – as performed by Traci Odom – was your favorite?
I loved Franklin!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Woman undefeated.

I don't REALLY know how to rate this book
After listening to the first, I was really looking forward to finding out what happened to Lissa, the main character. The first book was awesome. She found herself in a unusual situation (being turned into a vampire, and told she would be hunted and killed for being a rogue, and blackmailed by werewolves) and she dealt with it, in a lot of humor and butt kicking ways.
But this book, she was a push over. She didn't deal with it (compliance is not dealing with it). She talked about not wanting this or being against that, but only in her head and then does what she is told like accepting an engagement to Gavin, who is starts to become very possessive and verbally abusive.
This series started out as a urban fantasy with a strong female character, now it's becoming about a woman who is accepting being abused, molested, and tortured by not only the men (and there are a lot of them, very few female characters in this story) in her life, but also by her community and the laws that govern that community (she gets beaten for saving the so called good guys).
Even though this book ended on a very dramatic cliffhanger, I think this might be my last book of the series.

Please RE DO Audible program
Whoever decides who the Reader is : Whenever there is a story written and spoken by one gender, but most of the characters are of the other gender - hire two genders: one for each. This reader is not Jim Dale - who else can successfully pull off 59 character voices? Use TWO READERS : one for Male, one for female. it is PAINFUL listening to this series on Audible (and I have it jacked to 135% speed). it's an interesting and fun series -please RE DO the Audible program.

2nd book in the series is disapointing
After the the refreshing 1st book I was excited to begin this one! things I love about the first book mainly the story line not centered around the sex life of the main were not evident in this book as well the main characters lack of personal growth and ending in such self loathing and self pitty when she is clearly ,has so many ppl that care about her is ridiculous! she is no longer the problem solver. while I am giving the third book a chance and hoping for more self growth this book wàs a severe disappointment!

I absolutely loved the first 2 books.....can't wait to read the next one.....l love Lyssa as a character.....her attitude to how she has been dealt with .......what happened to her......maybe its because she is in her 40s and a real woman.....there was no meaningless narratives......it was well paced......all the characters were relevant and served a purpose.....5 stars.......

Good follow up
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes especially if they have read Blood Wager
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Passage?
The very last scene!!! - can't say more but I could see why it happened.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
For me - I did listen it all at once and then again much more slowly
Any additional comments?
The writing is clumsy but the story is so strong I am able to see past that. I could understand Lissa when it came to the last scene - can't wait for the next book.
