Excellent introduction to blockchain technology fir those who need more than an overview. This book truly covers all of the basics in the field of blockchain that a beginner might need to understand this innovative concept. It’s a great for any beginner who is trying to understand blockchain and it’s implications quickly.

Clear and concise

I enjoyed this book very much! I had heard about blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin but didn't fully understand what they meant before listening to this book. I was concerned that the information would be too difficult for a beginner, but the author does a great job with breaking the material into simple terms.

What about Scott Miller’s performance did you like?

Scott Miller has an authoritative, yet calming voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was impressed with how Alan Wright first explains that blockchain is similar to a ledger of transactions as that made it very clear and sets up the rest of the information. He then defines many of the terms related to this area, which helped me tremendously. Wright also makes the point that blockchain can be used in dozens of fields and isn't merely important for those in the technology industry. Bitcoin is clearly and carefully described and compared to the currency that we use daily. He also explains whether bitcoin can be a significant investment and discusses its use in businesses. The chapter on cryptocurrency discusses the pros and cons of expanding its use. Alan Wright looks clearly and carefully at a complicated topic and makes it accessible to all readers.

Everything You Need to Know About Blockchain

This book is highly recommended as it explains and covers Blockchain in a way that works really well for technicians and non-technicians alike. This is not a book that just introduces and gives a light covering of the topics, there is much greater depth and discussion of each and every aspect of the Blockchain and how it can be applied to commerce, government, and legal entities. A must get.

Bountiful Information

This was not a genre I usually partake in but with that said this book is a definite resource for myself and up and coming generations. Author Alan Wright does a superb job explaining how the idea of blockchain works. Love the use of the fictional character of Rob to explain how this system works. Author gives pros and cons for industries today such as IBM, Samsung, and Verizon. A definite read because this this is the way of the future.

An Interesting Listen!

What made the experience of listening to Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money the most enjoyable?

The voice was very appealing as well as the storyline itself. I listened to it while working out because a friend recommended it to me. I, on the other hand, would definitely recommend this book to another person.

Who was your favorite character and why?

In a general sense, I did not have a favorite character I feel as if I liked all of them in an equal way.

Which scene was your favorite?

Out of many scenes, my favorite one was the history behind it all. I was very interested in learning the background to all of it. The book as an overall total was a home run!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire book was very inspirational and moving so, it is generally hard to say which one is my favorite part. But, if I had to pick it would be the part talking about general use and functions.

Any additional comments?

Anyone that was thinking about reading this book should read it! It is a great one!

Informative primer to cryptocurrency!

This book can be best summed up with the three words, informative, interesting, and invaluable!

What other book might you compare Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money to and why?

I compare Freakonomics to this book. The information, while substantial, is broken up into nice bite sized chunks for the reader's consumption. The thing I appreciate most about the book is that it takes a complicated concept, cryptocurrencies, and breaks them down into smaller components. Wright's words demystify the technology while Miller's narration makes for a pleasant experience.

Which scene was your favorite?

The book's description on the emerging market places and bitcoin interested me. Miller made me feel confident enough with my knowledge to pay attention to the bitcoin driven financial news. As of late, the price of cryptocurrency has exploded onto mainstream market news. Reading this book feels like timely and serendipitous.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have an extreme reaction, but I was dumbfounded by what I did not know. This book provided me the base of concepts necessary to further explore the technology. After finishing the book, I felt like a re-read would benefit me greatly. In addition, this book can act as a future guidepost should I decide to embark on a bitcoin journey of my own.

Uncovered, Unraveled, and Understood!

This is an exploration into a fairly new method of trading, investing, and most importantly ledger transaction security, that for a lot of us laymen’s, are not to familiar with. I was fascinated with this book and blown away.

Mr. Wright begins with the basics, to outfit the reader with the foundation terminology, and concepts that are blockchain. The first few chapters somewhat repeat the base use of blockchain. However Mr. Wright gives this repetitive “varied” explanation, in a wide assortment of easy to understand applications and industry use examples. This gives the purchaser of this book, a solid comprehension inside the potential of, current growing digital-world commerce. Good on you Mr. Wright!

What I liked most about this book was that I was lifted with care into everything blockchain, and guided through its complex network of uses. Unlike other books that just drop you into the thick of things. In hopes that you can swim through it to the other side of grasping the concepts talked about.

This book is a wonderful starting point in delving into the process of “digital transaction”. It even sets you up with the beginning step by step paths, if you’re willing, on starting your own personal exploration into bitcoin and other crypto currencies. On top of this, I was floored at the potential of blockchaining being able to completely take money transactions off the table entirely. Using trade and barter over a highly secure system without a third party is brilliant when it is dealing with overseas deals.

This book is not only for the individual curious in understanding blockchain, and crypto currency. It is also a phenomenal investment resource for the prospective entrepreneur. And this is just book one! What the purchaser must be aware of is that if you do not already have a “basic understanding” of financial commerce or computer network structures and their terminology, you might be a little overwhelmed at first. But only at first. Don’t worry, it won’t be for long. Mr. Wright efficiently explains everything in do time. Just keep going. It all ties together. The book is laid out like this so you won’t get lost in its pages. I am now a fan of blockchain and Mr. Wright has successfully opened my eyes to a very exciting industry of possibilities.

Interesting read, even for the nontechnical

After my husband told me to get this book because it covered the “ways of the future” I scoffed as I am NOT a computer person, nor am I even remotely familiar with the ideas in this book. But I relented and did it anyways, and I was surprised at what I actually took away from the book and was able to understand. Mr. Wright does an amazing job of taking something so incredibly complicated, and let’s face it, boring, and bring it to life so that even those such as myself who know nothing of these things can comprehend it all.
Block chain and crypto currency are the ways of the future and it’s something everyone will be hearing more about as our technological world continues to grow. This book is a definite must read for anyone interested in the future and great for future planning and investments. Highly recommended!

Unblocking Blockchain

I don't think anyone remotely interested in Blockchain technology should miss this book - it's the best I've read so far. This is becoming a more pressing need as businesses attempt to connect Smart Citizens to their Smart Environments via the Internet of Things. This book is not about fluff and buzzwords but much more focused on defining the what in the context of how and why. It is an excellent introduction to the blockchain explaining how it will be used in business and potentially within a law firm setting. I highly recommend it.

Fascinating knowledge

This was a great set for the true beginners as well as the advanced knowledge holders. Nowadays there is a lot of debate about the cryptocurrency’s future. Perhaps it will be prohibited, or probably it will become much more popular and acquire legal status all over the world. Glad that I found this one. I started with this book and it was perfect. This book provides comprehensive information for easy and better understanding of the technology behind bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
