Publisher's summary

Miller:

When Talon left to play pro ball six years ago, the hole in my chest confused me. I focused my heartache into making my own NFL dreams come true, and by the time I was drafted, the longing I had for my best friend was buried deep. Now, he wants everything to be like it was in college, but we can't have threesomes and be reckless like we once were. The media storm would be enough to break both our careers. That's not my biggest concern, though. The torch I had for him burns brighter after so long apart, and there's nothing I can do about it. Marcus Talon is straight. I need to stay away from him.

Talon:

Years ago, Miller and I made a pact that we'd win a Super Bowl together. When I'm offered a position on his team in Chicago, I don't hesitate. I move across the country to chase a dream that's a decade old. Only, now that I'm here, he's avoiding me every chance he gets. If he was anyone else, I'd cut my losses. But this is Shane Miller - the guy who makes everything better just by existing in my universe. The guy I'd do anything for. The guy who's more to me than a brother, a friend, or even a teammate. I'm not going to let him get away.

Very sexy without being over dirty, grimy or classless.

First of all I can’t believe that this author is a woman. How does she know so much about gay men love, sex and relationship issues. I think this is one of the most sexy and accurate portrayal’s of a gay athletes coming out story without the whole Super Bowl / Super Star Athlete’s part. I’m a gay athlete who fell in love with a childhood friend who was also my teammate. It really does hit home and we felt a lot of the same feelings and went through some of the same issues that were brought up in this book. If I’m being honest I would have been the Miller character in our relationship. I highly recommend this book just on its sexy ness and accurate portrayal of men in sports these days. Also the love and sex scenes are EXTREMELY HOT HOT HOT!!!!! Without being stereotypical or pornographic.

A great couple complete with football

This is by far my favorite Eden Finley book. both Shane and Marcus are just to hot and yummy for words. their story is so good that it would make even the most critical person to stop and reconsider their 1st choice of verbal judgement. I highly recommend that you buy this book and enjoy.

Not much here

3.5 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames

Narrators Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma gave an upbeat performance of this best friends to lovers gay romance. It missed the mark for some reason. It's probably because it's the 4th book and the same recipe over and over again. I did find the moods between the two narrators polar opposite. Alexander was funny and sounded like he was having a blast, while Iggy sounded like a robot.

I did have some giggles here and there, but this audiobook does not fall under one of my favorites.

I will recommend this audiobook, for the purpose of finishing the series, but there is not much to take home and appreciate.

Happy Listening

Love this book

This book was just as good on audio as it was in print. Miller and Talon go from friends to lovers in this fun story.

CADENCE

I enjoyed the story. Miller's reasoning, indecisiveness -- based overall story and context -- got very close to over-the-top.

MC's cadence was very frustrating. Talon talked a mile-a-minute, while Miller spoke slower than average. I do think overall narration was the best yet. Secondary characters were mostly distinguishable, especialy Noah and Lennon.

LGBTQ+ message was a bit inconsistent and at times unrealistic.

Their Story chefs kiss

I have been enjoying this series! Saddens me that so many still have the mindset that men can’t be me, play sports and be gay. Beautifully written and narrated

loves the story buttttttt

Am I the only person that has discovered that he has a Boston accent and is from New York? I mean does everyone else in the country think that all of us New englanders have the same accent? I mean I wouldn't expect somebody to know the difference between a Brooklyn accent a Harlem accent and a Yonkers accent or a Long Island but Boston versus New York

Spends 70% building up a conflict that she resolves in a few sentences

It's such a bummer. This author is so bad at having no conflict/ no true conflict resolution in her stories. Every single book I've read by her she spends 70-80% of the book building conflict/potential for conflict only for it to be addressed and resolved instantaneously with no struggle wrapped up way too neat in a nice bow.

It really tanks her stories. So many I've read from her had 5* potential but they're boring/lack excitement and anticipation because she doesn't add in any real conflict. Better put, she does but it doesn't even cause a ripple let alone a wave no matter how big the conflict is and how messy it should be resolving it.

So frustrating.

The only book of hers that this didn't destroy was Irresponsible Puckboy and that was because of their dynamic and existing relationship with one another.
