Publisher's summary

Blinded by an Angel is the true story of one woman’s struggle to survive mental, physical, and financial hardships. This memoir is a roller-coaster of emotions, from grief, anger, and heartache to love, happiness, and elation.

In 2001, Christine Yanke’s life was turned upside down after police raided her family’s home and arrested her Hells Angel husband. Suddenly an unemployed single mother of three boys, she had to fight to keep her home and family together. For the next three years, her husband awaited a trial that would determine their future together as a family. When Christine was attending the eventual trial, her mother died suddenly while babysitting her boys. Six months later, she watched her husband sentenced to 20 years. To cope with this heartbreak, she turned to alcohol and drugs—hitting rock bottom before admitting herself to rehab. Six years later, her father died by suicide. Following a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, she went full-force into therapy to heal the pain she’d avoided for years.

This is a story of Christine’s determination, stubbornness, and persistence. She shares how she coped with the sudden deaths of her parents and how she overcame addiction and faced her mental-health issues head on.

Incredibly powerful account of real trauma, loss, addiction and bravery!

Christine recounts her amazing and painful memoirs battling unbelievable odds and back to back traumas and tragedies. Her grit and determination for protecting her family easily transcend her narrative and is a must-read for anyone that has dealt with struggles in their life. The torment resonates as she fights back emotion during particularly tragic events in her life. I hope this book reaches as wide an audience as possible to hopefully inspire people to get the help they need and deserve! Thank you very much Christine!

Inspiration

I wish I could find the words to express how Christine’s story moved me. I will try.
She is an inspiration and the definition of a never give up spirit! We all have obstacles but listening to Christine’s story makes you believe and know there is a way through. This is not a self-help book but it is the story of a woman who fought for her family no matter what. It gives hope that you can work your way out of any darkness.
I’ve learned so much from Christine as I’ve had the pleasure of attending yoga teacher trainings with her. You want to have this girl in your corner! I’ve learned so much from her. Read or listen to her story this year if you are looking for support, inspiration and love. Hearing her share this story, makes you feel like you are her friend, right there with her.
Thank you for sharing your story my friend.
