Publisher's summary

After the heartbreak of losing their newborn son to a previously undiagnosed genetic condition, Phillip and Anna Lewinsky managed to patch their lives back together and move forward, filling the emptiness with friends, work, and travel.

When Anna unexpectedly finds herself pregnant again at the age of 43, Phillip is thrilled to have a second chance at fatherhood in spite of Anna's objections.

As desires clash, misunderstandings abound, and decisions are irrevocably made, the foundation of their marriage begins to crumble until only tragedy remains.

Sad

Excellent book that has you question what you believe you would do and how you would handle things that happen. I received for free in order to give an honest review. I was sadden by most of the book because it comes from such a sad set of circumstances. How well do we k ow our friends and just what word we do?

Will have You Gussi Untl The Very End!!

This was one of the best books I've listened to in a long time! It had me guessin why Philip murdered his wife, until the very end of the story! This was my first time reading this author, and I'm already purchased her other two titles in the series. It's early enough that I'm going to start the second look right now! If you haven't read this, what are you waiting for? Scroll up and it that complete purchase button! Go on, I've got some reading to do, I'm done with this review!! 🤣

Riveting!

If you could sum up Blessed Are the Wholly Broken in three words, what would they be?

Compelling Family Drama!

Any additional comments?

This was a really good book! I loved the way the author told this story by starting near the end, switching back and forth between the past and present, and including the excitement of a criminal trial. I really felt like I was getting the inside story on what seemed to be an ordinary family's life. The author did a great job with characters and story, and the narrator definitely added to the experience. It was a very good performance, and I would definitely recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but will now go back and search out other titles by this author for purchase.

Heartbreaking. And loving.

Melinda Clayton is amazing at creating stories full of depth, love - and heartbreak. It's kind of court-investigation-detective-drama noir with a lot of emotional and psychological backstory. She has a knack for unfolding events in recent and less recent past in a way that keeps questioning the status quo on what it was that happened. And why. And how to look at it.

And I did feel a lump in my throat a couple of times.

Alan Taylor did a good job narrating the story, but it didn't create the "can't stop listening to this book" vibe for me as I just couldn't connect with his style (which, in this book, is kind of detective noir-esque). That is really subjective though, so I'll still recommend you listen to the book. It's worth it :).
