Publisher's summary

I gave up everything for Rome.

The one woman I couldn't live without.

But could I keep my promise and turn my back on everything?

Could I really forsake being a Dom?

Or will I pull her into the darkness with me anyway?

Obsessed with the Obsidian Series!

This was my first experience with Victoria Quinn's books and I wasn't disappointed. I was intrigued from the beginning and she kept me on the hook that I purchased the remaining 3 audiobooks in the series and binge listened. This was also my first experience with male narrator Michael Ferraiuolo and enjoyed his performance so much that I will continue to look for his work when looking for new purchases. Lia Langola did another excellent job with her performance, though I would have enjoyed the audiobooks even more if they were in duet style. The male narrator did so much performing of the females voice when doing an entire male POV chapter that I missed the female performers voice and felt she didn't get very much airtime. It did get a little confusing at times when they switched from male performer to female performer that performed the opposite sexes voices. I go so used to one performer talking in a certain style for the other sexes character, that when the opposite sexes narrating performer took over, I had to get back into the frame of mind to their performance style. But that's my only complaint, and it's not a huge one. I would LOVE if the producers took this into consideration and had the two narrators redo the recording in duet style and re-release the series. I think it could help boost the sales as this narrating style is becoming the preferred method to listen to dual POV audiobooks by avid listeners who spend lots of money purchasing hundreds to thousands of audiobooks a year, myself included (568 purchased so far this year).

Well Hot Damn!

this series just gets better and better. I both love and hated it at times but im so invested in this story that ahhhh... it has me so hooked. I'll tell you what though the narration is amazing. I'm a huge Lia Langola fan but i think this is my favorite book series that she has worked on. As for Michael Ferraiuolo, i loved listening to him before but for some reason in this book i found his voice very slow and seductive almost to the point of being hipnotized. There were times when i had to stop listening to this book not cause of the story but to gather myself together after listening to that sexy voice of his. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

struggle

a man struggling to change for the person that he loves. a woman unwilling to chair all of her history with the man that has shown so much resolve in the relationship. a brother that is such an ass doing anything to keep his brother in his side.

i find myself frustrated with the characters. but this is an intense full emotional ride with amazing narration. looki g forward to the final book in the series.

Twist and confusion. brings a Black Promise

Whoa! Callaway and Rome are in turmoil. Callaway nudges gently and Rome digs in her heels. Will they ever see eye to eye, or will the temptation be too great? I am not happy that my favorite couple is in this turmoil but this story is so good that it has left me wanting more. And let's be real....not all romances are storybook happy endings!

Lia Langola and Michael Ferraiuolo are the perfect narrators for Calloway and Rome. Kia has a sensuous voice that is so sweet yet demanding when she needs to be. She is perfect for Rome. Rome is struggling for independence and Ms Langola hits the mark with Rome's struggles through her voice. Michael Ferraiuolo deep and sultry voice is a wonderful compliment to Ms Langola. Mr Ferraiuolo can command attention yet still be soft and romantic. He portrays Calloway's disappointments, frustrations and thoughts impeccably. I adore this duet and hope they do more books together.

I need book 4 now!!

Out of all the books in this series book 3 ends with the biggest cliffhanger. I'm shaking I'm so mad! I have a love hate relationship with this series. I have gone threw the first 3 books in 3 days😳😳 Rome and Calloway continue there relationship, there is some drama with an ex, but that's nothing compared to how this books ends!!! If I can give any advice make sure you have book 4 downloaded and ready to go!! As for the narrators, Michael Ferraiuolo is one of my favorite narrators. He doesn't disappoint in this book. Black obsidian was the first book I've heard lia Langola narrator, and it won't be my last. Her and Michael did an awesome job together. They both got into character perfectly. On to book 4!

High intensity

I have to say that this book has kept me hanging on every word! Calloway and Rome’s relationship continues to grow and is so intense. I understand why Rome refuses to participate in anything to do with BDSM or even anything closely related, but after how much Calloway had done for her and given up, I felt like she was a little selfish not to even consider parts of it or even ask questions. She should’ve at least googled about the lifestyle to try and compromise. It’s ironic how Calloway’s Dad had been so brutal to him, yet he grew up wanting to live the Dom lifestyle. The ending made me want to stop and rewind. I can’t believe Jackson! And even more, Calloway. I’m screaming NO! I can’t wait until the next book/audio. And I also hope the author writes a series about Jackson, even though I’m really pissed at him. I would also like to read a series about Christopher.

If your thinking about the audiobook, this one doesn’t disappoint. I LOVED the narrators and how there’s both a male and female. They both do such great jobs at different voices of characters that I could picture them in my mind. Lia brought out such different and unique personalities in both Rome’s and Isabella’s voices. That’s quite a big role because Isabella is such a sub. And Rome doesn’t take any crap from anyone. Theses authors would both be perfect actors in movies
