Publisher's summary

A ship no one escapes from. A mission too impossible to execute.

Rocked by the death of a critical team member and haunted by the sudden disappearance of another, Magnus and Awen fight to rally the remaining Gladio Umbra in the wake of their raid on Worru. They’re forced to solicit support from some of the galaxy’s most unlikely sources.

But when Moldark’s forces show up unexpectedly, Magnus and Awen are torn between rescuing a missing gladia and protecting the larger mission.

New revelations about the Paragon surface, forcing the fledgling rebel resistance to find a way onto Moldark’s command ship, the notorious super dreadnaught Black Labyrinth. The mission will be the Gladio Umbra's most challenging yet, pushing the team to the breaking point.

Great book

The story continues to get better as the plot thickens and characters continue to develop.

S Kaye

Loved this especially! A few tears escaped and that patriotic pride of our military protecting us. Even though this is imaginary it’s so wonderful that you try to show how important our children are! Bless you! Thank you RC for doing such a good job!

Bar raised! and the plot thickens!

For me the sign of any good series isn't just the current book, isn't just the current set of events in the story, isn't just the combination of character development that makes you care about the characters and sometimes cry when they die or suffer, and interwoven action/plot...all of those things are signs of a good book, even sometimes lacking in 1 area can still be a decent book...but a good SERIES is when EACH book (or lets say at least the majority of them...but in this case its literally every book thus far) accomplishes this and moves the entire series forward while maintaining this intricate and delicate balance! AND when each successive book advances the series and outshines the previous one(s)! That is incredibly rare. Christopher Hopper and Chaney, along with the incomparable and masterful Lord Bray, achieve this once again in ROTG!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...a good book series doesn't require heavy use of language and ROTG is probably the best case I could make for any series being a grand story with epic plot lines and masterful character development while still making them feel real and believable, yet without the heavy use of language. When the story is good and when occasional language is used selectively (especially in fire fights and real world situations that you can imagine f bombs flying when you're about to die), I dont mind as much. or possibly used to break tension like often happens in the expeditionary force series (which is neck and neck in my mind for my favorite space sci-fi series along with ROTG....ruins is more star wars to EF being more trek-like...except when I was a wee lad, trek has always been a slight favorite to me over star wars, after about age 12 or so). But I might have to break the tie to ROTG for the way all of these things are masterfully done, and for the personal touch Hopper gives to his fans :).

I penned a thank you to Mr. Hopper for the end of the book...no spoilers, refuse to do that...and his author's note at the end. it was so moving and brought me to tears. I have some personal life experiences for why it struck me so hard. lets just say the way Hopper weaves his soul into these works of fiction allows me to simultaneously enjoy high fantasy while also speaking to real life as well (perhaps somewhat like the remake of Battlestar Galactica from the 2000s...way different sci-fi series, but they did that masterfully too).

Bravo Lord Hopper and Lord Bray! can't wait for book 6!

Naked Monkey Butts and Big Brass Balls

Another fantastic ride with RC Bray behind the wheel singing along with the radio on one hell of a road trip across space

I have to say it is a captivating story

I was unsure of this series at first because of the reviews comparing it to Galaxy's Edge but my concerns were not founded, this series truly stands out. The ending of this book is truly touching and I am excited to hear the next one.

Splick! Disappointing

Struggled to finish. I just didn't get into it. RC couldn't rescue this one. I don't think I'll continue with this story. it was childish at times.
