Welcome to the Blackwood House. Enter if you dare.

In Savannah lies a house about which is said that all who have ever lived there have gone insane. When Kimberly and Joseph inherit the house from an unknown aunt, they don’t know the house’s murderous history. They move in, and soon, a series of strange events occur. It’s like the house doesn’t want them there. Little by little, Joseph starts to change, and soon, Kimberly begins to wonder: Is the house haunted, or is her husband just going mad?

Jack Ryder and Shannon King have run away from the press and paparazzi to Savannah to get married. They are preparing for their wedding, when they stumble upon a young girl sitting alone on the docks at the harbor at night. She doesn’t seem to have any parents, nor does she know where she lives. Her feet are bare, and she has nowhere to go. They take her in for the night, but as they try to pull out information from her, bizarre stories are revealed, and soon, they start to speculate about the girl. Is she telling the truth or hiding unsettling secrets of her own?

Very Exciting and Suspenseful

I've been enjoying reading the Jack Ryder series and I think this is the best so far. Jack and Shannon have gone to Savannah to get married. Their kids are with them, and more family is on the way. They stumble upon a strange girl who isn't giving them a full story about who she is and where she came from. There are two story lines, one from 25 or so years ago and the one going on in 2016. Their lives get even more frazzled and scary as the story progresses.

This story is so well told and the characters are great. I think the author has done a fine job weaving the historical story with the current one. It's suspenseful and I wanted to complete the book in one session. I listened to the audio version and I think the narrator did his best job yet with this series. I highly recommend it for a mature audience because of the subject matter.
