I really wanted to like this…..but.

Normally I can suspend disbelief and enjoy most stories from start to finish. What kicks me out of the story and where I draw a line is grossly exaggerated, questionable consent with warning, and unrealistic pain/injury outside of a S/M contract. This story involves Dubious consent during each intimate scene. The top internally acknowledges that he is well endowed but takes the bottom rough stating that he knows he is hurting him, He never checks in with the bottom. The bottom internally acknowledges he is in pain, crying tears of pain, but doesn’t want say anything in case it will make the top mad and not want to continue. Consent for sex is one part, but to take liberties afterwards without checking in knowing that you causing pain to another is wrong.
The MC Goldie is basically a woman with a guys name but apparently was unquestionably straight. At least they practice safe sex. The audience of this book is not gay men like myself so most will enjoy.
