I need to quit.

I've been telling myself that every day for the last six months. I knew as soon as I started working for Hudson as his virtual assistant that this wasn't going to work out. He's rude, bossy, and a total grouch.

I've only managed to last this long because whenever he starts being a jerk, I sass him right back. Enough is enough though. It's time for me to find a new job.

Except when I finally meet him in person to tell him that I quit, he refuses to accept my resignation.

Suddenly, instead of the grumpy jerk that I'm used to, Hudson seems to be trying to be almost . . . nice. It must be a trap. Except he says that it's something else.

Can I trust him when he says that we're fated to be?

Fine. I guess

After a year of working for him online, Isla shows up at his house, and cue the instant reveals: shifters exists, she’s his mate, the town believes the worst about him, she knows it’s not true, she loves him, he loves her taste, and yes, yes, YES sex. I kid you not: all of the instant reveals happen in a day.

Other than the sex scenes, which are most certainly open door (kicked open and busted off the hinges), the lightning quick plot happens off screen. It’s all tell and no show as we’re told about his backstory, the current danger, and the solution. In fact, no one else appears or has dialogue, except for a teensy bit involving Isla’s bestie.

But, is that not what we expect from a 2.5 hr novella titled Bite Me? Nothing horrible, but also nothing new.
