Publisher's Summary

The mastermind behind Apple Computer sheds his low profile and steps forward to tell his story for the first time.

Before cell phones that fit in the palm of your hand and slim laptops that fit snugly into briefcases, computers were like strange, alien vending machines. They had cryptic switches, punch cards, and pages of encoded output. But in 1975, a young engineering wizard named Steve Wozniak had an idea: what if you combined computer circuitry with a regular typewriter keyboard and a video screen? The result was the first true personal computer, the Apple I, a widely affordable machine that anyone could understand and figure out how to use.

Wozniak's life before and after Apple is a "home-brew" mix of brilliant discovery and adventure, as an engineer, a concert promoter, a fifth-grade teacher, a philanthropist, and an irrepressible prankster. From the invention of the first personal computer to the rise of Apple as an industry giant, iWoz presents a no-holds-barred, rollicking, firsthand account of the humanist inventor who ignited the computer revolution.

    "fantastic book"

The writing wasn't eloquent or inspired, but it was very entertaining to listen to. The writing style is approachable at almost any level and the life of Steve Wozniak was shared in an informative and fun way.

    "super clear n correct ."

Woz seems to be an extra good person.only one book didn't mention good about Woz is A bite in the Apple that's understandable as the common jealous women feel about men's success if he is not her dad, husband or son.

Well it was informative... though it felt there some holes and self-contradictions by the author which is only natural to happen when someone writes a book about themselves. Anyways... useful for those who are curious about Steve Wozniak and his contributions to the personal computer.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Patrick Lawlor?

    Pee Wee Herman

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    very few

    Any additional comments?

Read the book figuring this would be the less egotistical more down to earth of the Apple Pair, but he comes off as so full of himself and so obnoxious, must have congratulated himself on his intelligence three dozen times already. Apparently both Jobs and Woz are total jerks.

"A real look at the story of Steve Wozniak."

Great overview of what and why Steve did what he did during his career before during and after Apple. This book focuses in what he thought was the most important moments of his life were. How his education as a child enabled him to think outside the box and create what others thought was impossible.
Awesome read for anyone interested in tech, and a special shout out to all engineers like Steve.
