Short and Sweet

This book is really about development of children (and adults too really but they aren't mentioned) on how to nurture others and love them.

This book is simple, sweet and informative. It's quick to listen to and isn't bogged down with someone who just wants to show you their knowledge. He seems to really care and has simple ways of teaching about life. There's a happy sad reality to it.

Mr. Rogers is special

What did you love best about You Are Special?

The book has great advice and Mr. Rogers' narration makes it easy to listen to. Much of what he says focuses on communicating with children and the value of those interactions, but honestly it's very relatable.

What did you like best about this story?

The book contains stories from his childhood and moments he remembers when he learned important lessons or gained valuable advice that helped shape his persona. Not only is the advice good, but it helps you reflect on your actions and upbringing and how those moments helped shape your life.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from You Are Special?

There are many rewarding perspectives in this book and lots of advice on communication and how to treat others. It sheds some light on human behavior and how our interactions define us and affects the people around us. I would like to take away many lessons from this book and practice these on a day to day basis.

Any additional comments?

I've listened to this book a handful of times on my way to and from work. It sounds kinda funny to tell others that you're listening to Mr. Rogers' "You are Special" but after some of my friends listened to the book and got past the corniness of it, they also realized this book is smart, meaningful and is overall good advice and has a positive outlook on life.

Everything you'd expect from America's favorite

Mr. Rogers dispenses advice in a calm, gentle manner and voice. The information and opinions he gives are soothing, with no shame or guilt upon the reader. Not too long but filled with golden advice from America's favorite neighbor.

Simply a wonderful book

Hearing Fred Rogers speak with such calm encouragement is such a treat. I have listened to this book several times and I am sure I will listen to it over a dozen more. Fred Rogers dedicated his life to the development of children and his care and hard work and attention to detail comes through beautifully.

Quintessential Mr. Rogers for adults

This book elaborates on the child development and psychology behind Mr. Roger's message. I enjoy his message because at its core it is so much of Christianity and the Theology of the Body. But Mr. Rogers helps you apply it.

Short but Covers Alot

In total it's a short audio book, but it's filled with a complex wealth of excellently narrated dialogue by Mister Rogers himself.
