Publisher's summary

When we hear about a serial killer, we never consider the sex; we would immediately assume a man...right? But that's not always the case! Females are for the most part, the loving and caring protectors of our species and the ones that are more susceptible to danger. However, they are in fact the most dangerous because they are the least suspected of the serial killers. Like their male counterparts, they show no remorse and have no mercy for their victims. Should we still call them the weaker sex?

Women Who Kill explains and defines the various types of female serial iillers and contains over 20 criminal dossiers, including:

  • Gertrude Baniszewski
  • Margie Barfield
  • Martha Beck
  • Lizzie Borden
  • Judias Buenoano
  • Christine Falling
  • Caril Ann Fugate and Charles Starkweather (Couple)
  • Delfina and Maria de Jesus Gonzalez (Sisters)
  • Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo (Wife and Husband)
  • Dorothea Puente
  • Marybeth Tinning
  • Rosemary and Fred West (Wife and Husband)

RJ Parker is the author of six serial killer books as well as Top Cases of The FBI. His Serial Killer Files Series includes:

  • Unsolved Serial Killings
  • Case Closed: Serial Killers Captured
  • The Serial Killer Compendium
  • Doctors Who Killed
  • No Killing in The Hallways (Shoot Shootings)

Critic reviews

" Women Who Kill is a journey into the minds of female serial killers - their motives, their acts, their thought process. Parker gives an overview and then delves into various stories about individual killers. I found myself horrified but also completely captivated." (Best-selling author Michele Scott)
"If you're looking for some gruesome, real-life stories of deadly women, look no further. Parker has collected, and documented, tales of murder and mayhem from the, uh, fairer sex. Hard to believe some people can do such heinous acts. A mind-boggling collection." (Alan Orloff)

EXCELLENT BOOK FOR A TRUE GRUE COLLECTOR

What did you love best about Women Who Kill (Serial Killers)?

Usually when we think of Serial Killers we think of men, not the case in this book

What about David Gilmore’s performance did you like?

Very well spoken

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

Oh how we cherish our mothers and respect their kindness! Well, here is a different story told in "Women Who Kill"! This book made me cringe at the thought that there is a different breed of mothers/women out there who have a disgusting way of life. Not only to their loving children and spouces whom they decieve but to the community as well! Heart breaking stories some had to face in the hands of these monsters! Great book and very interesting knowledge! Its not only men we have to fear but the kind women with the wicked intent next door!

Great

If you could sum up Women Who Kill (Serial Killers) in three words, what would they be?

Crazy, informative, short

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the stories about each woman. I've heard some of these stories from tv shows but I thought the book was too short. I loved hearing about the women serial killers.

Have you listened to any of David Gilmore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

exactly what it says

It is quite an interesting two hours. normally i don't bother with a short book like this. if you are a true crime fan you will like it. as i say quite interesting, the narration is good which matters very much. As an indulgence, go for it :-)
