As moving as his bestselling works of fiction, Nicholas Sparks's unique memoir, written with his brother, chronicles the life-affirming journey of two brothers bound by memories, both humorous and tragic. In January 2003, Nicholas Sparks and his brother, Micah, set off on a three-week trip around the globe. It was to mark a milestone in their lives, for at thirty-seven and thirty-eight respectively, they were now the only surviving members of their family.
Against the backdrop of the wonders of the world and often overtaken by their feelings, daredevil Micah and the more serious, introspective Nicholas recalled their rambunctious childhood adventures and the tragedies that tested their faith. And in the process, they discovered startling truths about loss, love, and hope.
Narrated with irrepressible humor and rare candor, and including personal photos, Three Weeks with My Brother reminds us to embrace life with all its uncertainties . . . and most of all, to cherish the joyful times, both small and momentous, and the wonderful people who make them possible.©2004 Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks; (P)2004 Time Warner Audiobooks

What did you love best about Three Weeks with My Brother?
I learned so much about the Sparks family - and where Nicholas found the beautiful & inspiring books/movies that we all love to cry through. I was not sure what I expected, but I found the interweaving story of Nick's growing up with the amazing trip he took with Micah to be deep and meaningful. I shed a number of tears along the way... in true Sparks fashion. Nicholas is a deeply spiritual man - and in that is his strength and source of all things flowing through to his stories. I think most of us would be rubber-roomable after his childhood experiences & fears. A deeply human story - filled with inspiration & flaws.Who was your favorite character and why?
Nicholas. He is strong despite his innate fears that should be crushing him. His trust in God is inspiring. He keeps putting one foot in front of the other and trusting that God will see him through. He deeply & truly feels for others; he puts their feelings first. What about Henry Leyva’s performance did you like?
he was believable. I truly enjoyed listening to him. It was as if Nicholas himself was reading the story... and I have never heard Nicholas' Sparks voice! Henry read the story as if the words & story were his own personal reflections & memories. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
His sister's death. I really hoped her optimism would see her through. That Nicholas was astute enough to back off when he realized how much more important it was for her husband & inlaws to have their time to say their goodbyes actually had me sobbing as I walked down the street.Any additional comments?
Highly recommended. Have tissues handy - you'll need them. For both laughing & crying.A must read for any Nicholas Sparks fan
