Publisher's Summary

Warren Buffett remains one of the most sought-after and watched figures in business today. He has become a billionaire and investment sage by buying chunks of companies and holding onto them, managing them as businesses, and eventually reaping huge profits for himself and investors in Berkshire Hathaway. The first two editions of The Warren Buffett Way gave investors their first in-depth look at the innovative investment and business strategies behind the spectacular success of living legend Warren E. Buffett. Tracing Warren Buffett's career from the beginning, Hagstrom told listeners exactly how, starting with an initial investment of only $100 Buffett built a business empire and has an estimated net worth of $44 billion. The Third Edition of The Warren Buffett Way will focus on the timeless principles and strategies behind Buffett's extraordinary investment success. There will be new chapters on the important distinctions between investment and trading and an examination of the most successful disciples of Warren Buffett. Some less important material will be deleted and the overall focus will be to create an edition that will stand the test of time, distilling Buffett's success formula in a way that will provide value to listeners for decades to come.

Not for the casual listener

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who is very serious about reading financials and sincerely wants to do what is takes to try to beat the indexes.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, it dissected the elements of success behind Buffett's singular success. The author established a rubric and measured some of Buffett's key investments against this.

Suggest getting the print copy.

The book is more like a manual or text book so having a print copy will help with the various formulas and key points.

very very very dry book

It's a book on long-term investments in the stock market, follow the tenants of Warren Buffett. I didn't expect it to be very entertaining. but the book could have been much shorter had the last three chapters not been inserted for their Dickenson pay per word value, since they repeated earlier concepts introduced in the book. Although, the biographical chapters on Mr. Buffett were a nice addition.

Practical as well as informative

Last couple chapters do case reviews of companies Warren invested in and why. Spares us of meaningless childhood memory details. Gets into the meat of evolution of Warren 's investing principals. Very practical if you want to think & invest like Warren.

Absolutely amazing and motivational

Great story through the life of Warren B., his first stocks and investments, and his performance in Berkshire hathaway! Very educational with the impact of Warren Buffet' s mentors😉 I recommend it to everybody who wants to see the real performance of the stock portfolio rather than speculation.

excellent book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I can never get enough of books about Warren. The narrator was clear and easy to understand. The only downside that it was sometimes difficult to keep up with some of the more technical bits - it's not a major issue though as I could happily listen to it again.

Excellent mindset defining content!

Excellent content, changed my way of thinking about investing in the stock market.

I found the speaker dull at first, but after a while I got so invested in the content that I stopped caring about that.

Fascinating insight into value investing

I'm brand new to investing and the stock market so there were a lot of lessons for me in this book. It took me a while to get used to the narrator. He is quite monotonous but the content is interesting so it's worth listening and paying attention.

Insightful analysis - a must read to anyone wanting to know how Warren Buffet did it.

Content: This book gave me so much more than I hoped for... it calms me down to revisit Buffet's approach when my stocks are up and down and helps me remember why I bought them in the first place. Also valuable was the run through Buffet most significant investments, how he did it, the metrics and he reasoning behind each of them.
A highly educative book.

Narration: Don't be too disappointed by the slowish pace at the beginning... it improves along the way to get to the perfect pace considering the content of the book.

A must listen/read

An awesome listen... if you're not a numbers person (like me) it can get a bit confusing at times but overall the principles and general ideas are conveyed very well.

Keep your Notes App open while you listen or a pen and paper will do...

Warren ideas are always a great reading

The book have some very specific statistics which make it very hard to hear at some points, although if you are not interested in the specifics, but the overall learning, it would work just fine.

Warren life and achievements speak for themselves and worth being understood and considered whenever looking at the stock market (or any business venture to be honest).

Great book!

Some of the contents are repeated over and over

Very interesting and informative, though some part of the contents are being repeated over, and over, and over, and over - that I often feels that I must have accidentally drag the scroll bar to the left. Other than that, this book is very inspiring.
